Default Talk me OUT of turbocharging my truck :)

Let's have some fun! I picked up an 05 Sierra 1500 with a 4.8. it was bone stock and I finished doing maintenance on it. With a tune and new plugs and wires it really woke it up......but there is SO much room under the hood. It looks like it would be easy to throw a kit on it and I've got a GT67 and a 7665 sitting in my garage, one of which would be perfect for the little 4.8 and be responsive as heck. Talk me out of it!!

See how ugly it will make your truck... You won't have any room for normal maintenance either...

Rebuilt it with the 2 best used ones I could find in a friend's core pile. Put a baby cam in it that I had laying around and let her eat again.

Sounds like a nice setup. I've been leaning towards a single. Have you seen anyone flip around manifolds and keep stock accessories?

I think it can be done. its been so long since i have seen one done that way. Most use Trick Turbo or KB Racing for manifolds or complete kits.

You can buy just a manifold and fab your self if you would like from there. When you think about the time spent hacking up a stock manifold, Its nice to be able to grab a finished product for a reasonable price and go from there.

Ebay also has some cast passenger side manifolds you can use a starting point.

I've been looking at the ebay hot side kits. Looks like you could do a full kit for about 1500.

I looked at trick and KB racing, but honestly since I have a turbo and dabbing a cold side is easy, I could probably have 1500 into an entire kit instead of just the hot side with an eBay hot side kit. I've got 3500 into the truck after all maintenance so I'd have 5k into a rwd Sierra crew cab making 450+whp lol.

That's a 5.3 or 6.0? I think the gt67 or 7665 would be just about perfect for a 4.8 street truck that tows.
