I need to go to suspension school.
I had actually tightened the front rebound. Not enough I guess.
Hit the pan when it landed, didn’t even crush it. But caused an oil leak at the gasket. 2nd pass, my day was done.
Good thing my buddy brought his street truck down in a trailer.
Sweet ride. Time to hang weight up front, or still have some clicks left on the shocks?
Shocks are DA Viking Warrior. I have 4 clicks left.
I should limit the suspension drop as well.
First pass was 8.97@152 leaving on 8lbs, running 18psi in low, 22psi down track.
That was 11 psi leave, 21 psi in low. Would have been 25psi down track…..
Some of those off road bump stop deals around the shock ram saved me a few times! (not sure I got that terminology correct.) I was even lazy and just split them and put a hose clamp around them. Came down HARD a few times. Didn't bottom out. Used 2 of the larger style in the photo.
One of the reasons I switched to a glide. Really made the car that much more predictable.
Glad nothing major got hurt. But man, does that picture look great!
I think I can tame it down with shocks and limiting the front end travel a bit.
Just finally saw the video. Thinking it would have been ok to have stayed in it. Last time I stood it up was in 2007, so just not used to that feeling. Split second decisions!
Good idea Forcefed, although I’d rather figure out how to keep it from doing this. 😊
3.31 gears stock geared TH400.
I don’t have a trans brake.
I agree! I think suspension travel sensors are the only real way to know what's going on and prevent it completely. For those "Oh $hit" moments though, I like to have something in place as a fail safe! lol
Have you seen the amount of travel some of these no prep guys are using? Swear the local "beater Bomb" guy here has 20" of travel. Its nuts! Then uses the shock travel sensors tied into traction control to keep the nose down. It's like he rides the last 1-2" of travel the entire track. Seems like it would be an aero night mare, but it sure works!

Not sure if you said it or not, but when the front starts to go up too high, grab a gear. Shifting to 2nd will help to slow down the front going up and hopefully make it carry the front out instead of just slamming back down.
