Question Twin Garrett T04B90

With a .60 A/R compressor housing with a 3 inch inlet and a 2 inch outlet. It carries a 54 mm compressor wheel. The exhaust housing carries the TO4B turbine wheel and has an A/R of .96. Exhaust housing has the 4 bolt flange pattern.

My question is will these work on an LS1 and if so, how well? I am new to turbos and I am trying desperately to learn and I've been reading and searching a lot on this site but still need some guidance. Thanks

Yes 2 of those turbos will work, also it will depend on what your goals are. As for turbo help, try this link below....

Thanks for the info Jose. I was fortunate enough not long ago to come across another of your posts and I went to that website...great help. As for the aforementioned turbos, what can I expect on a stock LS1?

Also, if I were to go with a single turbo application as opposed to a twin, what would be a good route to go if I wanted comparable performace to the twin T04B90's?

A 58mm compressor will flow about 57 lbs/min of air. Thats enough for ~590-600 crank HP. As for equivalent single, your looking at a minimum of a T76-GTS or PTE-88.

Sweet, had no idea 590-600 was possible for those turbos...I'm aspiring more in the range of 450-500 at the wheel, so going a little smaller would be reasonable I'm guessing. Also, I really don't want to be pushing monstrous boost levels. Any more recommendations? Thanks again...

The only drawback to that unit that will restrict the HP is the B cover. Its a little smaller then I would like. I definitely wouldn't go any smaller.

I looked again at that website that you recommended that I said I had already seen, and I wasnt sure I understood the air consumption tables and compressor maps, but now I think I do and it helps a TON...

Thanks again Jose

If anyone else has any recommendations at all about achieving 500rwhp via turbo let me know...

Eight Ball, Seeing how no one is paying attention..that 600hp EACH..not a pair. If your target is 500ish look at a pair of GT25 or GT28s or other t3 based units. More than enough turbo with great spool time.

I was told the TO4B90E's were good to 400hp each?

Thats my plan anyway, as I have a pair of those sitting on the shelf in my garage for my 6.0L truck.

They may support that much each, but you never want to run at the maximum output, way to inefficient. The Incon's are good for 880 fwhp but you would not want to run them past 600-650 fwhp because you are out of the center island.

Yeah I like the fact that theres not too many turbo LS1's around and that makes me want it even more As for puttin money into it, Im about to put it in a garage on jack stands for the winter in a few months so I'll have alllllll winter to save up and work on it. Hopefully with help from you guys on this site and a few turbo DSM expert friends of mine I'll have the thing running by next spring...

Been shopping around and I found a Garrett T3/T04E for 549.00 with the following specs:

COMPRESSOR SPECS:

flow: 53 lbs/min 678cfm

.60 A/R HOUSING

60 TRIM WHEEL

TURBINE SPECS:

.63 A/R HOUSING

Should I just stick to a 50 or 57 trim for the same price for what Im lookin for? The 50 flows 46 lbs and the 57 flows 50 lbs...

Once again, thanks to anyone who takes the time to help me out.
My Turbo TA revival project has begun

There's more than you think, and they are closer to you than you know. Go with a single. I want to be the only twin turbo LS1 in CT.

If you ever want to see the packaging on an Incon, let me know.

Thats exactly my point though...if youre the only TT LS1 in CT, I bet that means theres not too many turbo LS1s to begin with...

I also have two t04b90's but I can't find a compressor map anywhere for them, did you get them off ebay also?
