That's a good range. It's gotten to the point where I just suggest 10.0 to everybody who is running good fuel because it's still plenty efficient and has a good tuning window.

Hey Pete. What’s your chamber volume?

My 5.3 is 9.4:1 currently and will be 10:1 when I swap the 799’s for some AFR 205’s cut to 61cc.
It will be interesting to see if it picks up at the track

Sorry, Ron. It’s been so long I don’t remember. They’re at the shop now getting welded up. I’m going to have him measure the chambers once he gets them fixed.

Engine is back together and ready to install.
9.6:1 CR

Ran out of time to out it in the car, as I have to leave on another trip. I’ll get back on it next Thursday.

I don’t know why it made 20psi on a 8lb spring and no dome pressure. I didn’t expect it to make that much boost, so I wasn’t concerned with the timing map. When I checked the 2-step, it made 13psi at 5000rpm.
Also, I would think the CL compensation should have added fuel, yet it doesn’t appear that it did.

Oops..

370” engine. Ignite Red fuel. No intercooler. A 40mm JGS gate on each bank with good priority. 94/102 turbo.

Sure, in hindsight, I should have put it on a dyno and ensured the tune was good before sending it down track… but I didn’t.

I can disassemble the engine and get the block decked. The head is already at the shop for repair. If I keep this block, I’ll get new pistons to drop the CR to a more reasonable level, as it’s 13:1 now. (Originally built to be max effort).

All I want to do now is run 8.50 index. I can get a LC9 locally for $1000. Thinking of getting that and lose 100lbs.

I’ll figure something out within a week. No rush.
What size are your waste gates?

Waste gates are JGS40mm. Everything I’ve read, is that they should be able to control a 370” engine. But, you certainly can’t believe everything you read on the internet.

Maybe I should get a couple 50s.

Perfect. You will have no issues with the tuning on E85.
and no issue running 8.50 with your lightweight car!

It’s going to be interesting to get the mystery boost handled. 😁

I'm only running 3 lb springs with my 48s because I lost the box with the other springs lol.

Kevin (local to you) is pretty handy with issues like this. He's hoping to fire up his new combo in about a week.

That's turn around was quick!
So are you still moving away from M1 to an E98/C98 type fuel?

Back at the track this past weekend.
Car ran great… but spun every pass. 14psi down track.

A friend happened to be flying over and took this pic. He had no idea I was there.
