Just for comparisons sake my current car uses a Davies Craig setup with no thermostat, and it works very well.
Granted it's not rear mount but it is a dual pass radiator in a stood-up configuration.
It'll idle at 170-175 degrees all day, run down the highway at 2,500 rpm at 190-195 degrees on an 80+ degree day and as soon as I get to the end of the offramp it drops to 180 degrees.

You can find restrictors out there, I think Moroso sells some.

I run this with a stock 5th gen water pump. It blocks the bypass.

I’ll see how it works Saturday and re-assess if needed.

Thanks.

Aight let's send Pete some positive vibes.

Here are my suggestions (you didn't ask lol but here they are).
  • I run 17 psi, Ron Rhodes likes that tire pressure for 275s.
  • First hit since you didn't do any street hits, I'd leave on 6 with a 1.5-2.0 second ramp, run 10 - 15 lbs. It will run somewhere in the 10s. It's literally going to drive out on 6 lbs. I added 2 more lbs on the leave and shortened up the ramp a lot (and ran more boost on the next hit, 15 psi) and it still drove out. When I drove my car on the street I was hitting it with 15 psi and I ran about the ET I felt it would run.
  • You said a buddy will go with you, it's nice to have him double checking if you are straight because you have a lot going on.
Have a great time, better than working!

John’s good vibes somehow worked…

1 pass two weeks ago - spun

1st pass today - spun

did a little adjusting…

2nd pass today, 3rd on the setup…. Did not spin. Beat John’s ET… by a bunch…

In case you’ve been curious about the ET slip.

Seems to me that there is a lot of potential in this setup…. After all the years it took for me to build this car, I’m finally feeling good.

Yeah that's a killer pass for first time out. Are you still running the 76?

Thanks and I’m running a 91/102 from Jose now.

So, naturally I would hope, that a purpose built race car with a bigger turbo would be quicker that a cool street car with a smaller turbo… but we all know that’s not always the case…

8.6/6.5 in 3 passes, that's pretty badass, take a minute to pat yourself on the back for all the work you did on the car.

There was a recent thread on FB in Boosted LSX where folks discuss non-intercooled setups, a few folks had been high 4s.

I appreciate the support. I’ve learned a lot from both here and YB.

Congrats on running an easy mid 8 second pass 1st time out! That car has a lot of time and $ invested into it and it is looking great! That FIS 91 is going to make some real steam when you turn it up.
What does it weigh with you in it?
