He was happy with it but said the VS is a way better unit.
If you can set your base pressure at 43 psi, you'll be in good shape as injector flow will go up as boost increases if using a BRFPR.
Install a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator if you can, you can get away without one but having one would be ideal.

I think your additional bucket to keep the fuel around the pickup will work well.

yea you need to wrap EVERYTHING you can. It’s imperative to make a lot of effort to try and keep the heat down under the hood. Wouldn’t hurt to put fire sleeves on the plug wires that are close to the pipes. At times they get red hot and don’t have to touch the wires to crisp them.
A set of hood pins in place of the latch, would open up enough space to put it there.
I may move it later on if it seems to become an issue. It's very hot here in Louisiana so i try and limit my time outside working on the truck

One of the issues with the air hitting the cooler at an angle is, it tends to create turbulence in ft of the unit, and airflow may stall.
In any case, good luck with the project!
