Head Suggestions for FI on Pump Gas

Default Head Suggestions for FI on Pump Gas

hey gang,
like the title says, i am looking for a set of heads that will perform nicely on a pump gas FI set up. i am planning to run a turbo with a front mount and the cam i have is 525/535, 216/220 on a 114lsa.
i plan to lower the compression to around 8.5:1 to help run more boost safely. i was wondering if this is better done with a set of ported 6L heads or if i shoudl get 5.7L heads and go with forged lower compression pistons.

Custom pistons will cost more. I would take the cc's out of the heads. This way u could mill the heads to what u want.

i dont think you will be able to loose all that compression with just heads.
you will probably have to do both.
get some 6.0 heads and forged dished pistons.

i think classic was selling his ported 6.0 heads, not sure if he sold them yet.

Won't be able to get to 8.5:1 with a swap to just 6.0's. You would need custom pistons too.

If you are going to get custom pistons you can keep your 5.7 heads and just get them ported. Or you can sell them for a few hundos and get some ported 6.0's.

what would his compression be with just switching the heads?

If the chambers have not been opened up I would think half a point of compression, if swapped to 6.0 heads.
