Default Pics of the new GT45.

Got the GT45 in today, snaped a few pics of it next to my T76. First i'd just like to say this thing is freaking huge. It's about 1.5in bigger on the compressor side then the T76.
Also can anyone tell me what size V-band and flange I need to get and where i can find one for a decent price, I'd like to stick with mild steel for the flange since that's what my DP is gonna be.

Yes nice turbo. I have had tons of these units go through and they are very nice indeed. They are designed very much like drag radial cheater turbos.

Thanks guys, like Jose said this is a very high quality turbo i was actually skeptical at first because of the cost but this thing looks like it's built better then my T76.

Jose, Can you tell me what size V-band clamp I need to get for the discharge and if you have them? Shoot me a PM when you get a chance since i'm gonna need a few other odds and ends, Thanks.

The flange measures just about 4inches. I haven't found anyone that sells a 4" vband other than Burns Stainless but they want $85 for it. I need one too, and I don't care if it's stainless.

I have an exhaust housing coming. The company that we use for clamps is going to make custom ones for us. As soon as I get some info and a final product I will let you know.

Here's a place I found. So would the 4.21in flange work temporarily?

The flange measures around 103.2mm on the outside. That's about 4.06inches. So your looking at about 1/8" difference in diameter. I'm gonna wait and see what Jose comes up with.

Default Fit

Does this turbo fit any existing kit or just your old set up, or does it require new fabricating?
Also when will you have any numbers with this?
Are you also going to be running this on the same motor?
What rear end, gear, drive shaft, clutch and flywheel are you using?
What fuel component did you change?
Is this on stock computer?
When would full boost be reached with this?

I cant see the pics either but I know how big that thing is. There is no way it will fit any of the kits out there and even if it DID, youd be choking it with a coffee stirrer par 3" DP on it. LOL

Good luck! Those are nice turbos

if the OD of the discharge flange is ~4inch then you need a 3.5" vband clamp. Turbonetics carries all that ****. just check over measurements witeh them they can hook you up with whatever you need. They are expensive though. I had a hell of a time finding the correct flange/clamp for my turbo so I had to bite teh bullet with them.

I'm not aware of any existing kits this will fit on.
I'll be running this on my current motor for now but i'm planing a iron 348 with 8.5:1 compression for this fall. If all goes well with funding, i have a guy with a 9in that i'm planing to buy here soon with 3.55 gears.
I'm using a custom race D/S built by a local shop here and a spec stg3 clutch but i have a stg5 disk sitting on the shelf

My fuel system consists of stock rails and lines. Walbro GSS340 intank and T-rex inline pump, lucas 42lb injecters and CAS pressure regulator.

I'm still running the stock ecu but probly switching to a microtech EMS when i do the iron block.

Yeah, the inside diameter of the turbo outlet is 3.48inches. I didn't realize the vband clamps where listed as inside diameter.
