Default Questions on SDConcepts 8 rib LS1 kit.

For you guys running the SDConcepts set up.

I have an 01 SS with a Procharger P-1SC-1 and a 3.4" blower pulley and
the standard 7.65 crank pulley. The car is only making barely 5# at 6000 RPM and my only mods are Jet hot long tubes and off road pipe.

I emailed SDCE and talked to Wendy and she said the 3.7" blower pulley in an 8 rib set up would make 9-11#. I aksed what size the crank pulley was in the set up but got no reply. I have no belt slip issues now so i dont understand how a larger pulley would make more boost? Does anyone know what size the crank pulley is with the SDCE set up?

I am very interested in this kit but im having trouble getting info on it.

what size pulley would you recomend to get me around 8# with the 8 rib set up and the SDCE crank pulley?

thanks for the help!

The SDCE crank pulley that comes with the 8 rib kit is 7.250, that with a 3.7 should get you 8-9 psi.

Are u sure the normal crank pulley from ATI is 7.65? I thought it was 6.75 which make more sense if the SDCE setup is using 7.75 and 3.7 blower pulley. 3.4 with 7.65 will make more boost than 7.75 with 3.7 blower pulley. Each 1 increase in the crank pulley will equal .5 decrease in the blower pulley.

A larger crank pulley will make more boost because it does spin the blower at a faster rate hence the extra impeller RPM. U can use this formula next time to figure out how much Impeller RPM u need to get the desired boost giving there is no belt slippage.
(Engine RPM* Crank pulley size * step up ratio)/ Blower pulley size.
So if u have a 6.75 crank pulley now, 3.4 blower pulley, 4.10 step up ratio and lets say 6000RPM that means u are running your blower at 48838 RPM. Good luck.

Looks like I may be doing business with SDCE. although hard to measure on car it looks to be a 6.75 crank pulley.

Hopefully this will solve my problem and get me around 8#. Some tuning was done to the car but I am waiting to get it dyno tuned.

Will the ATI supplied 38 Lbs injectors be allright with the added boost?

Anyone need a 2.8 blower pulley?

Thanks again.

The stock crank pulley from ATI is way smaller then the 7.xx what ever you posted... I used to run a 4" blower pulley with LT's and a small baby cam and i only saw 4 psi at 6200rpm. I stepped up to a 3.2" blower pulley and saw 7psi..... then i stepped to a MMS 7.785" crank pulley and went back to a 4" blower pulley and saw 11 psi.... The SCDE 7.25" crank pulley and a 3.7" blower pulley will make over 9 psi on a stock motor.... i made 7 psi with it on a built motor with the stock crappy ATI IC's. You will be more then happy with a 3.7" blower pulley..... you might want to try a 4" blower pulley first.... i know some people are seeing i believe 10 psi on stock motors with that pulley. My 3.7" pulley will be up for sale next week.......
