Intercooler question
Intercooler question I'm working on an OBX rig... My question is, when I get it all mounted like I want it, and I get all the piping right. Can I let the turbo blow through the piping and intercooler to blow out any "trash" that might have gotten into the works? Would it hurt anything to have the turbo blowing into the atmosphere and not into the intake. Keep in mind I would have a filter on the tbody the whole time. It's just the turbo blowing through all the piping and the intercooler into the atmosphere where it would normally be pushing air into the motor... Just a thought I've had in my head. Better safe then sorry.

As long as you're not reving it at 7K you should be fine..
When my IC got filled with water I was trying to run it open to blow out the water. It doesn't work really well though with water as there is no real load on the turbo so not as much air gets pushed through. I would try using a compressor and air hose too. That might push some of the larger pieces of crud out easier.

that's not a good idea. Your wastegate will stay closed until the manifold see X amount of boost. Since your turbo is not connected the motor will keep spinning the turbo faster and faster. I am not sure if it's possible but you may overspin your turbo.
