Question STS Meth system is screwing up? HELP please!

I just got My system all installed and I am trying to work out some of the bugs before I get it Dyno tuned. The Tunner is do some preliminary stuff for me B4 we go to the dyno. I have bin Running way Rich at WOT! So rich that the car is crapin out.

I just figured out that my Meth system is spraying meth everythime the car builds boost. Even like 3lbs of boost! The Only way I could get it to stop was to Pull the fuse for the system/? Its comming on without powering it up (with the fuse in place)? Have any of you got any ideas why this might be happening? I fallowed the instructions to the tee and I did all the system checks they said to do. I even put in a few of the optional indicator light that show when you have Low pressure and when the pump is comming on.

I was able to run the car WOT for the first time justa few minuts ago after I pulled the fuse. I dont know what to do from this point so if any of you got an Idea please let me hear it!

Please tell me what you think? Lata, Ark

That's what you want it to do... is spray at a set boost psi.... mine was set to come on at 4psi.

How many psi are you running?

How is your system hooked up?? Do you have the progressive controller, pressure switch, or off of a boost controller?? I have mine set to start spraying at like 3 psi and slowly progress to full spray on at 6psi. Im also running real rich as I havent gotten around to doing too much tuning and I would rather wait a couple weeks for my cam and start tuning from there.

Your AFR will go way rich but that's normal and your actual AFR is a lot leaner than you are reading due to meth's stoich. I was told depending on how much you are spraying, your afr could easily be 12.5 when it's reading 11.5.
If you look at my graphs on my rice etr page, you can see my afr dropped well below 10:1 but the car never bogged and power didn't drop.

My Gauge was showing like 2 to 3 PSI of boost?

My system is set up with a presure switch which has not bin adjusted from its stock setting. Just as the STS instructions say, The system is hooked up to the Boost controler power line. Its Not meant to come on unless I power/Arm the system which in turn switches me to high boost and activated the meth system. Once it switched on then the meth should start spraying at the same time the boost comes on and activated the pressure switch. (At least this is how I understood it to work?).

ALSO once the Meth starts spraying the car falls flat on its face! It starts braking up bad!

Let me know if I am not making cence?

Sounds like too much meth.

If it's coming on with the arming switch turned off, then you've made a wiring mistake somewhere.

I agree. There is a mistake in the wiring and it is spraying too much meth for the lower amounts of boost. I dont see why once you get the wiring fixed you couldnt splice in a progressive controller so that it isnt spraying all the meth at once, but progressively increases the amount of meth sprayed as boost rises.

Thanks for the Input Guys, I got it. It was ONE wire in the wrong spot? I read the instruction a dozen times and I still am Unclear as to what its telling me to do BUT once I figured out what everything was meant to do I was able to figure it out. Its all fixed up now! Not sure if that makes cense? BUT its Working correctly NOW!

AS for the Meth. That was with only 3 lbs of boost. That's not my LOW boost setting. I had to change the spring and move the 1/4 fitting on the Compressor housing to get it working correctly BUT now with the new spring and the fitting in the correct spot I am getting 8lbs on LOW boost. I may have to drop down one spring size as I was shooting for 7PSI on low. I have 8.5 to 1 comp. so we will see how this acts for a little while? I think the Meth might be OK with this Higher level of boost.

Thanks for the help. I do appreciate the replies and the ideas. It helps a LOT to be able to get other opinions on what's Going on. Lata, Ark
