chris, i had a chance to look at that 4" stuff from that outfit, and it looks pretty promising. The 4" elbow is well made, and looks better in person than it did on the website. I'm going to try dynoing with a custom filter on, and then with the filter off (usual way) and see what sort of difference there is. i think bos could use this elbow too, maybe gordon. has a nice curved design that does not look restrictive at all. i might just order up a custom filter that is real narrow and then see where it will fit so i can ditch the teeny filter on there now.

hi dave, i'd rather post a pic of the elbow attached to the blower, so can i do that when i get back from [grand haven - mi] and post a pic early next week?
basically i don't have enuff room on my rig to put an air filter on there that will flow 1600 cfm. a filter that size custom spec'd tends to be 6 x 12-18 inches depending on the manufacturer.
chris noticed an elbow that is a tight 90 but has curved sections so it might still flow pretty good. so i went ahead and ordered the elbow, some pipe, and a 45 degree elbow (regular style) to play with.
i'm gonna go ahead tomorrow and order a custom filter so i will have it next week, and then play around with different mounting locations. i was gonna get one from k&n, but the waiting time is 2-3 weeks.
i do have a small filter on there now for putzing around with, but it's so small that it might implode if i beat on it.

I spec'd custom filters from KN ($92) and another company, using 1600 cfm as the flow needed I have been suggested to run stuff that is 6-7" in diameter and 10-15 inches long. KN makes a bigass filter that is 18 inches long but it's rated for 2300 cfm.
