best way i see to combat that is to have a plan and stick to it.
Phamspeed budget kit with FMIC no charge pipe with BOV shipped is $2600
injectors say $250
FAL from summit $175 shipped
Boost Gauge/controller $500
Piping from someone if not done yourself and exhaust $350
stage ? clutch $500
dyno tune $300
total=$4675
.....seeing the look on that boosted cobras face...priceless

what is the FAL?

a dyno tune will probably be more than $300

sure you'll beat cobras...but wouldn't you still get spanked if the cobra was modified?

time for sleep/work, more questions tomorrow lol

depending what he had done and if they're good drivers. It would be a good/fun race against a bolt-on cobra. A KB cobra might have something to say about it though

FAL are FLex-O-Lite fans to replace the factory ones that you have to move.and a good tuning place should already ahve a basic tune for a boosted car like that to cut time down.and third....you dont even need boost to beat a blower cobra.ls1 do it all the time on motor....i was referring to the look on their face when you blow off at him

Put it this way. I spent around $5,600 so far and I'm not even close to where I wanna be! So I am not in a rush anymore to put the kit on the car just wanna collect all the part's when I get the chance. Slap the car together all in one shot. I am even thinking about the built bottem end now.

The e-boost(yes a controller) and 60#'s(injectors) were like $420 each shipped. Yes you could do it for around 5k. I just wanna skip that part.

Your exhaust is a pretty penny too Hell Its possible to do the kit under 5k. Like spider said. Set a goal and stick to it. Just make sure you get a good tune and dont over abuse the car. I would recommend rebuilding the motor as soon as possible though. Just for some insurance reasons

Is it really a bad idea to drive the car after the kit goes on??? Staying OUT of boost as much as possible, of course. Definitely no WOT runs or anything I'd have to drive a good ways to get a tune.

This is true. I really didn't even need it but it's the way I want my setup I guess. You can do a exhaust for under 100 bucks if you wanna keep cost down. But heres the thing for me. I just got this car over the winter so this is my first summer with it. I wanna enjoy the car and not have to worry about tweaking it all the time plus not worry about popping the motor. So I figured I would get a nice exhaust, some rim's, and paint the front end(it needs it). After the summer I will get back on track with the turbo kit. I think this way I will be able to get what I want for it. Like a built motor all that good stuff.

Go with H/C. Ypu can make the same number's N/A that you were going to make with that budget kit at 5psi. I see alot of 450rwhp N/A car's on this board.

No worries. If I had the money id slap on GMMG too. One of those things you dont want to take many short cuts with and be happy with it in the end

itd be less to do heads cam,but not my much if you get GOOD heads.but it wouldnt be as much of a DD with a big cam.to make 475 youd need a relatively large cam.and you wouldnt have the ability to say oh i want to make 500 today so ill turn up the boost cause i got my new tune.etc.

I kinda agree, if you don't plan on going all out just get heads cam and some 42's... You'll make the same power
