is it safe??

is it safe to run an ati procharger on a 98 ls1 with 130,000+ miles on it? the motor has been well maintained and is in what i belive to be good condition. what can i do to check? thanks for any and all help!

you can do a compression check and a leakdown test.

If both tests come out well, then get one. I have a P1SC on my car and its got 122K miles on it.

FYI, it might be for sale soon.

Leak it down 1st and you should be ok if the rings are.

i'm planning on replacing the oil pump, but is their any other weekpoint i need to adress before i consider FI? oh btw my car is in cali, so everything needs to be cali leagal.

If its a 6 speed....clutch then a rearend(12 bolt or 9"). I would put a 160 thermostat in the car too. I never had an overheating problem and I was in Texas and Las Vegas. Just make sure you use good oil(I was using Mobil 1 15w40) and keep your other fluids looking good/topped off. You should be fine.

Remember, don't go crazy on the boost on a stock engine either.

what boost should i run if i get the procharger. oh and i'm getting a 9 inch with detroit locker and 4.11s soon hopefully and the clutch....well what would you recomend? i just spent around a grand for the stock clutch to be replaced...
