Default thinking about boosting my TA this summer...

I have a 1998 TA and I have seriously been thinking about getting a turbo for my car. I was planning on getting longtubes in May and then eventually a heads/cam setup but being in Colorado has made me want to go the turbo charged route.

I was looking at the phamspeed budget kit and just wondering...why is it so cheap? is there a catch or something that I am missing?

My 1998 TA..current mods:
Nitrous Express wet 100 shot (might be selling it if i decide to get a turbo)
BBK 85 mm throttle body
SLP lid
SLP loudmouth catback
SLP Y pipe
3.73s
msd superconductors
free mods

i would prefer a turbo over a supercharger although i have been looking at the ATI D1SC kit.....and i also have researched the STS a little but the Phamspeed kit seems pretty cool. I dont want to spend a shitload of money but I just want to check out my options.....

thanks for any advice, help or opinions

another thing.....my friends were supposed to be pitching and getting me the longtubes for my bday. should I just ask them for an LS6 intake instead?

If your going FI, tell them to get some 60lb injectors and a fuel pump. Everything else will cost substantially more.

check with some of the sponcors--------------------------------------------->
I'd talk to Tom at Ls1speed--1866-ls1-speed
Jose with Forced Inductions--256-658-5798
or thunder racing---877-516-race

If they can't help you, they know someone who can.

later,
Dave

If you don't want to spend a **** load of money then stick to you h/c w/nitrous. FI isn't cheap, you'll find yourself spending money left and right for this and that just so you can make more power.

i have no problem spending a lot of money....i just want to drop like 10 grand into it all at once ya know? in the next few months i am plannin on getting subframe connectors, lower control arms, and new wheels. one of the reasons i want to go with a turbo setup is that i live at over 6000 ft elevation, its hard to make good NA power up here....

IMO im with hellraiser in that turbos the way to go.im been doing alot of calculations as far as what costs what shipped and the little things like piping and such.IF...and this is a BIG IF...IF you can be content with 500rwhp you can doing a full budget turbo kit from phamspeed...plus an FMIC gauges fans exhaust tune everything else for $5k.but i know hellraisers right about how youll keep wanting more and more.but look at it......thats about a grand more than the basic STS kit and your out the door.phamspeed rock on!

yeah im in the springs.....lol.

if i get the kit it might not be for a few months....i need to sell my nitrous kit and there are a few other things i want to do first like sfc's, lca's, fuel pump, injectors, etc. the good thing is that i am done with the semester in less than 3 weeks and i will be working more hours so things will go a lot faster....
