Thumbs up What ring gaps for 18 psi turbo 347 ls1??

What ring gaps for 18 psi turbo 347 ls1?? My total seal rings say .0055 top and .0035 second per inch of bore. This seems way to tight. Let me know thanks.

I used .028 top ring, .024 second and stock oiling rings FWIW Nitrous turbo, etc they all need to be opened up for increased cylinder pressure so the rings dont collapse together. I regapped my rings on my stock shortblock to keep from blowing a side out of the piston.

The JE piston/rings I used had a larger multiplier for high PSI blown applications ( 0.0045 std, 0.0060 for blown ), or an increase of 33%.
This puts the numbers V6 suggested right on, assuming a bore size of 3.900".

Mahle, reccomends bore x .055

I used bore x .060 same as with a nitrous setup.

I liked it a little bigger just incase
hope that helps

I decided to go with .025 on both based on some other very high end turbo motors I found. This should get me by and is about 6.4 per inch of bore. Thanks.

I am building a 750 rwhp pumpgas motor. It is a 347" motor with 3.905 bore 2618 pistons, billet rods, and 8.1:1 compression. It's just a street motor, but I might try some race gas and bump the boost just to try, but I am not sure yet. Only time will tell!
