Is this the brake booster line to tap into for vaccum/boost?

If so, how do you do it? The hose that came with the boost gauge is so small, and this one is so big. Also, does the size of the hose running from the vaccum line to the sender matter? I think it would be easier to use a larger line and avoid the goofy fitting the Autometer gauge comes with. Thanks.
Is the line in the middle the right one to tap into?

That's where I tapped in, in the gap between the driver side header and the brake booster you took a pic of... I just used one of those three-way universal vac line adaptors from AutoZone, and some hose clamps to hold it secure.
I also through about using the small HVAC vac line on the back of the intake but it's a pain to get to and farther for me to extend the boost gauge vac line over to it. I came through the firewall right by the brake booster so connecting it to the brake booster line was easiest.

If you look under the hvac pod on the left firewall. you'll see a vac hose at a one way valve. Easy tap there also. Just unplud the lower hose from the valve . put your tee in and reconnect it. No cutting.

is it ok to run rubber vaccum line on a mechanical gauge provided there is a small barb fitting attached to the gauge?, I some how lost the proper small clear plastic tubing and its fittings.
