Why are you running such a low compression if you have a meth kit on it?

Tom you are out of your mind!!! This is going to be one top nothch setup when you're done, it doesn'tlook like you've skimped anywhere!

A couple of questions for you; have you received the PTK yet? If so, how long did it take them to get it to you? Quality of the kit? Can you please explain your fuel system? It looks like you just drilled two holes in the factory tank and installed bulkhead fittings, is that correct? If so, any leaks or concerns with doing this? What did you do to baffle tank to contail fuel? I assume you're not using the factory pump, correct? Did you have to modify the back of the drivers-side fuel rail for firewall clearance? Sorry about all the questions.

Again, sweet setup Tom!!!

I have not received the kit yet.....any day now.....parts are being coated....taking just over 3 months from time of order.

My fuel system is as you said....bulkheads in the factory tank. I removed the factory pump and tubes..except for the feed from the passenger tank. You can run fuel lines into the rear of the manifold without touching the cowl...but I cut mine to avoid any aggrevation.

At this point I have no baffle in the tank....I will see how things work...habent thought of a good design yet. I am not worried about leaks ....just make sure that there are no high spots on the tank where you the bulkheads go.....I have run the pump/fuel system with 80psi...no leaks....the teflon washers do a great jod at sealing.

I should be finished in the next 1-2 months.

I dont feel 8.8 in low compression. This seems to be right where most recommend I plan to run up to 20 psi.....or more

Yeah, he should have ran like 12:1, because his 427 is going to lack low end punch without high compression

check the parts for sale section, I think someone had a couple for sale that had died shortly after they where hooked up. My suggestion is to go the the Magnafuel Pro Star EFI 600, it seems to be the choice of most people with big setups. That's what I'm going to use in mine, which is very similer to yours.

Not bad for beginners. Here's a question. Big Stuff 3, very nice, but how are you controlling the stock gauges, and computer display in the dash. Are you piggy backing the BS3 off the stock computer?

Sounds great! I have seen third hand some folks complain about that fuel pump over the last couple of years. I ran a Weldon 2025 but couldn't take the noise. I'm running dual Bosch 420L external pumps now.

That pump on the Ohio boys car made "metal mudd". Lucky they had a filter after the pump.
That Bosch pump that John uses is very nice. We just installed two in-tank for John Cunningham's chevy2 wagon so he could run drag week without the noise of the Weldon. They are pretty quite, and deliver enough for some serious steam.
BTW cool build.

Bad *** setup. i also was told to stay away from that fuel pump..... return it to who ever you bought it from......
I like the twin Bosch's also but after some talk with my current builder i wanted to run ONE big pump just incase one decided not to work and i found out to late... ...

I am running the stock gauges from the stock PCM. Thanks for the insight on the pump issues. I will be researching for a new pump with the inline configuring....not much room for external fuel pump of that size...

What does BG have to say about all the pump failures. Are these pumps being run dry? are they having other issues that are being looked into?

Tom
