Default Flawless VICTORY! 5 to 6 PSI from 3.20 ATI Pulley!!!

This post was so long:

"Quiz: How to vary boost on the Supercharger"
https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...&f=20&t=000120

... I figured I'd start another.

It ABSOLUTELY works! I ran it over and over again thru first gear and 2nd gear (0-42, 25-42, 40-80 several times) trying all different ways to vary the RPMs and it did not vary from the 5 to 6 PSI!

Remember, I get 8 PSI of boost immediately and rise very quickly to 10 PSI with my D-1SC ATI Procharger w/Headers/Cats/Y-pipe.

Second time around, I found the right combination of Plastic Ducting to get an IMMEDIATE 5 PSI of boost, and slowly rising to 6. It doesn't quite touch 6 PSI at shift.

I decreased the Venturi ramp and increase the amount of stricture at the smallest diameter from my first venturi of 2.5" to 2.0"... about 2/3 the diameter of the original connector tubing. I actually fit angled 2.5" x 2.0" reducer pipe into a 3" pipe. Just for s&g's, I put a 2" extension on the angled reducer to take the flow closer to the compressor before hitting the accordion hosing.

PERFECT street boost... 5 to 6 PSI!

(Remember I have a SY3500 converter. Guys without stall may get a more gradual increase initally.)

Mortal combat.. LOL. Congrats Mike! Very interesting though have you autotapped it yet?

Curious to know if the IAT's are different, or if the MAF is freaking out or anything. The restrictor is making the blower work harder no doubt, there has be a loss somewhere. It may cost more HP to turn the blower now than it would if you had a larger pulley. Though it may be miniscule at this power/boost level.

BUT.. all in all the mission has been accomplished I would say. If you can invent something where we don't have to jack up the car... <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

How about that needle and seat hypothesis? <img src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> <img src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" border="0" alt="[devil]" />

ahhh! i just saw your posts on the other thread , veeeery intresting.
but how easy is it to swap the ventury on the street???

how about an adjustable one ??? an inflatable ring that inflates and restricts the inlet / accordion hose <img src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

anyone seen anything resembeling this??

man , can't wait to get the car running!!

I jack the left front corner of the car (2 min) and remove the whole intake ducting from the inlet hat. It's one screw/clamp. (1 min)

I separate the filter from the accordion hose and insert my "boost restrictor" into the 3" Tube that joins them. (2 min)

I re-install everything in reverse order.

A lot simpler than changing pullies! <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

i guess so , now for another question!!!
what does the screw in the blow off valve do ?? what effect does it have if i move it??
what happens if the bov was installed the other way around??

i finally put the blower in the car and got her running...sounds sweet !!! ( so long for the stealthiness part of the project)
the only thing that sucks is i can't floor it !! ( waiting for the fule system to come in) , and man is it tempting!!!! the car pulls gret and when i hit 3k it starts to pull then it bogs i bit at3800 then i back off.
oh the temptation!! <img src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" border="0" alt="[devil]" />

I think it adjusts the sensitivity of the purge point. I wouldn't screw <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0"> around with it.

Why would you want to reverse it? What do you think that would buy you, other than to defeat it's purpose?

You can find these three parts at Lowes
(Home depot, too, but I don't know the part #'s):

From left to right:

E940K, E995J, E942J

This is what it looks like assembled:
