Please tell m the difference between Intercooled and Aftercooled

The intake air, in both cases is cooled AFTER it passes thru the compressor. Some have suggested ATI calls them intercoolers because they are situated between the compressor and the throttle-body. One day I will have to ask their technicians why they chose that term.
ATI actually waa ahead of the aftercooling/intercooling game before Vortech came on board with it in their systems.

AFTERCOOLING involves cooling of gas in a heat exchanger following the completion of compression to (1) reduce the temperature, and (2) to liquefy condensable vapors.
INTERCOOLING involves the cooling of gas between stages of compression (1) to reduce the temperature, (2) to reduce the volume to be compressed in the succeeding stage, (3) to liquefy condensable vapors, and (4) to save power.
intercooling dates back to aviation engines that used multiple compressor stages, often a supercharger and a turbocharger. The intercooler was between them.
If you think about it, aftercooling makes more sense. Since you are cooling the charge "after" you compress it.
And, it has nothing to do with the method used. Water to air, or air to air a simply charge cooling methods. nothing more.

That's what the engine itself is - just another stage of compression though - so you are just removing heat between 2 stages of compression
