Instant Horsepower, just add water ;-)
Finally did it, H20 injection is online. I still have a ways to go figuring out jetting and water/alky mix but it's pumping water and everything looks A-OK.
I was very nervous my first test run but happy to report no issues.
Today was water only. I will go get some alky this week and hopefully make my car drunk with power

Excellent! Can't wait for more news, sicne I have my nozzle and tank siitng arround waiting for the weather to get nice to bolt them in. Any adjustments before the test? MAFT? or LS1EDIT?

Re: Instant Horsepower, just add water ;-)
Hey Andrew, no I didn't change anything for the first run. I then just started bringing up the timing after. I need to do more research / ask questions but water alone didn't seem to do much, I was only able to raise timing very slightly before detonation set in. At this point I don't know if what I am seeing is correct because there is no alky in the mix or if it's that I am using too small of a nozzle. I used the 10 by the way. My initial thought is too small of a nozzle. I should have been able to increase timing more than I did just purely from the big drop in cylinder temps I should see. I will pop the 15 in and see what happens.

I am hoping to be able to squeak out another 25-30hp from my current combo.
I learned from reading a bunch of article and from Just_me aka SJH now.
FYI- It's not the water/alky adding the power it's the fact you can run more boost/aggressive timing curve with it, thats where you get the power.

well fiddle diddle, I had more water in the tank than I thought so I have a 75/25 mix of h20 to alky. Was looking for a 60/40. It seems to be working though. Took a while for the stuff to mix up and make it to the front of the car but the last blast was ping free. need to do more testing but the darn fuse for my pusher fans melted and the temps started climbing fast. thats what I get for letting the holder rest up against the radiator for so long. So that put and end to the night. Gotta go get a new fuse holder and install then more testing to come. I like that 5 gallon cell. It was an excellent idea. once I am done testing and I start driving normally again that reseviour will last for months.

my scanning tool does not work so I don't know at this point. hoping to borrow atap here in a day or two. so to this point I was doing it all by ear, gonna stop that, not worth the risk, so I won't have any new info for a couple of days

got a hold of atap.
temps drop a good 30 degrees when it kicks in.
thing is though my cruise IAT's seem way to high. 60 degrees out and cruising down the highway IAT's are reading 110.
Where the F is 50 degrees of heat coming from?
I have another post asking PD'rs to post their cruise IAT's
So for one blast it dropped from 115 to 88 but still pings. I am moving to the 15 gal nozzle tommorrow and try again. If that doesn't do it when the supply gets low enough I will add more alky to get closer to the 60/40 mix I wanted.
Plus I need to figure out whats up with cruise IAT's being so high. That can't be right.

booom baby. same curve that would knock and go down to 13 degrees advance last night w/o water/alky, worked perfectly and I saw peak advance all the way thru the curve. This curve is only 17 degrees after 4800 but it worked great!
I start cranking up the timing this weekend. The key was in the mix. Upped it to a 60/40 water/alky and it works great!
I will post again after the next round of timing increases/testing. After I max it out I will even go to the dyno and see what kind of power gains I have achieved.
Right now I am
Hopefully Saturday after more tweaking I will be

Re: Instant Horsepower, just add water ;-)
got up to 20 degrees advance, everything looks great, about to move to 22..... then my ls1-edit adapter died
they are taking care of me, no complaints there, but my testing/tuning is on hold now
good news though is that the setup is working beautifully
I can't wait to see how much of a power difference it makes but it's looking like this is a great way to go if your running a powerdyne.
