I bet you are psyched!!! I just got my pistons in as well yesterday and she's going to the machine shop today! I like the billet mains!!
Any expectations on rwhp running the SAME boost as before? Who made those pistons?

Indeed i am
It moves to the garage today so i can start bolting up the manifolds and turbos. It won't fit out the door with them on
The pistons are a custom JE set:
3.910 bore
.250 top ringlang and acculator groove in second land
1/16 1/16 3/16 ring stack
.927 pin w/ double spiro-locks
Comp. height 1.310 for 6.125 rod and stock deck clearance
valve reliefs and inverted dome for 8.7:1 CR w/ 72cc cambers
inverted dome instead of dish to maintain quench area
The mains are nice, i've gotta put the pics of the block up. You can see the dowel pins that are put in to help hold them in. And, you can see the chatter marks on the block where the stock powdered metal mains were holding the crank off the ground
With the new heads, cam, intake and dropped CR i'll prolly be in the 500-550rwhp range on the same boost, but i should be on pump gas for that But, why would i wanna run the same boost?? this motor won't see less than 15 psi for long

I wish I could afford to have my kitchen so well furnished!!! Man I hear ya about the pump gas...yeah you want to run more boost but it will be nice to run 550rwhp easily on pump gas with no mixing. What vlave springs are you using and what do you intend to rev too? I thought it was cool to run my times only revving to 5500...nice and easy. As soon as my muthafu$&%*&^ing clients pay me I need to order a 2 step and a shift lite. Im sure I speak for everyone when i say I appreciate you keeping us up to date on the progress of the 2 step.
What timing chain are you using? Looks like you are going with a JWIS from Katech?

Nice.
I've got a new 2000 block under a tarp in front of the garage on a table that used to have semi ported 5.3 heads there too, a crank covered with a rag in my room next to my main hoop for my S&W 8 point bar, and the rest of the bars under the foot of my bed. Considering I have a bench mounted drill press in my room it aint so bad. If I had an engine stand the block and crank would be on display in my room.
Can't wait until assembly starts.

Nice motor setup.
I was pretty happy with the performance of the Summit ring filer for $33 or whatever it is. Not too sure about the "grit glued to a washer" appearance of the grinding wheel, though...

Nice setup man. Those gaskets are pretty nice looking. I've never seen any like that.

The summit ring filer did a pretty good job. And for $30 you can't beat it
Those are indeed the '02 MLS gaskets
I plan to push this motor real hard, and want to keep it together for atleast half the summer
There's some more now, you can see the pins for the mains and markings on the block from the old mains "walking"
a few other random ones too

It looks like a great setup so what is the most boost you plan on running I thought 15# even on a built motor would be alot. Btw how are the 2-steps coming.

well, 15psi is a low goal for this motor
I was running between 10 and 13 last year, but i was on the edge of the fuel system.
I have 2 sets of gaskets. Get it dialed in on pump gas to get close to 600 RWHP, then switch to straight 110 or C16 and turn the **** till the heads come up. Swap in the second set of gaskets and turn the **** down half a turn. Where that gets me is what i get
I'm shooting for 9's this year. I may break ALOT along the way, but that's the plan
Are you on the dist. list for the 2 Steps? I finally got the last piece to complete the harnesses. Building them now, and fine tuning the software for the latched operation mode.

Well, because they didn't have them available just yet when the motor went together.
Although, i guess i can get them now. And the motor is still in the kitchen.
Hmmmmm
