GWP422 idle .mp3 - AWESOME!
Some said they want to hear the GWP422 idle.
Here is an .mp3 (249 KB) idling in neutral, then in gear.
I have 'warmed-up' idle in neutral set to 900 RPM's and 'warmed-up' in-gear idle set at 850 RPM's.
This is a monster cam for the street, as far as I'm concerned: advertised .580+ Lift and .280+/380+ duration!
Ain't Golden West Performance amazing!?
This is FULL stereo. Left channel is from the exhaust, right channel is near the left fender by the Supercharger.

That should be one healthy specimen when everything is in order.

Man that sounds tuff! I better not let my stock cam hear that, he might get scared of the big dog. But that's what my blower sounds liek too, so that makes me happy that some things are going right. Do you have a little gear-like noise with the whine of the blower?

Yep... that is mostly with the 4.10" pulley. I found the SC spinning faster at idle with the 3.20 pulley had more whine and less gear noise... barely noticeable.
I will be glad to up the boost again. But, I must check my fueling reqruirements first... after I get the Tranny back in.

How accurate is the recording to what a person would hear by ear standing near the car?

TOTALLY accurate!
I used two Shure SM-58 microphones with low impedance cables... one positioned as if a person had squatted down at the fender, the other as if sqatted down by the left exhaust. The recorder is a hi-quality 4-track set to DBX Noise Reduction.
I could have set the mics at standing/ear height; but, some of the sounds would be masked by ambient sounds. This closer mic'ing gets a more accurate recording. Even though a higher position may record what a person hears as they are walking around the car, I did not want any of hte engine or exhaust sounds masked by an ambients.

This is FULL stereo. Left channel is from the exhaust, right channel is near the left fender by the Supercharger. But, instead of close up (two feet) I have these Shure SM-58 Mics set at ear-level, front and back, to simulate someone standing by the car (for my more particular friends ). The first skip at about 11 secs is going from Neutral to 1st (Drive position). The skip just before shut-off is back to neutral.
