I am pretty sure the blocks are fairly diffrent. I think your best bet would be to get a complete GN motor and swap that in. clearance shouldnt be a major problem

93-95 F-Body = 3.4 V6
96-02 F-Body = 3.8 V6
Also try www.firebirdv6.com they have some turbo'd and sc'd members.

Forget about the fbody. Get a Buick Park Avenue and build the 3800 up to GNX specs. Then throw some big BOOST at it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Now that would be one sleeper turbo Buick. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Only problem is the front wheel drive. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

There was a 93-97 formula in GMHTP awhile back with a buick GN motor in it. It was fast. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Never happen, without major cash, buy a 1989 Turbo Trans Am, and go from there. I put 17,000 into my car an ended up selling the sucker for 11k. Deals are out there to be had on those cars (Grand Nationals included), if you want.

Look in GMHTP archives. The guy in there actually converts them. I'll try to dig that one up. I think the price was like $9k, which isn't bad, considering what you can pick up an older 4th gen V6 for, maybe even blown or no motor. My frined bought a 95 Firebird with no motor or trans, otherwise complete, for $500. Get 98+ brakes and goodies for cheap off of here, and you'll be set. The one in GMHTP ran 10's all day spinning in 1st gear. DO IT!!!

We are doing this swap in my best friends 93 Z28 right now and instead of a single turbo, we are building custom headers to mount a pair of turbos.
Its moving slowly, but there are a few photos of the progress so far on my webpage.

THe 3.8l in the fbodys is waaaay different than the buick motor. The best you can do is build it up to gtp specs and there are quite a few aftermarket goodies available now as well. Check out this site and messageboard, it will have all you want to know:
