Where did you here that?

They use a TIAL alloy (that is an alloy not just a brand name).... http://www.gkss.de/templates/images_...richt_Tial.pdf

It should be fine..

The only possible issue is if you have the right sized one.... Too small and you will get boost creep at upper RPM ...

If that happens or not also depends on what turbo... Turbine wheel and A/R.....

I was told that the 38mm TIAL that came with my kit would fail when used with race fuel.

They actually use 347 for the valve with the lid being TiAl....

What.. Leaded race fuel or something?

http://www.tialsport.com/prod_wg_38.htm
TiAL street Valve Stem ( Black )
For Use with UNLEADED
Fuels ONLY

TiAL Racing Valve Stem ( Silver )
Compatible with Leaded
Racing Fuels
Guess what... Thats got nothing to do with the size or brand...

If you can get the stuff in your area run E85 on the street and asuming there is enough boost E98 on the strip.

You can get unleaded race gas pretty easy these days anyway....

Um its on the same site and yes its leaded fuel safe..

I'd still run an alcohol (ethanol) blend instead.

More power.. Turbo cars love it... Its like running high octane race gas with a 1,000x better intercooler system....

Base tial 38 is not to be used with race fuel. You can order the upgraded valve, but then it jacks the price up and still no springs. Also they flow marginally less then the Turbosmart 38. We tested this at the beginning of this year.... . For the price the Turbosmart 38 is champ. If you want even cheaper then go with the new Turbosmart budget 38, but it is not recommended to be used with race fuel either.

Jose...

Is it only leaded racing gas... My presumption... that can kill some gates or just all racing gas..

Lead is what kills the wastegates if they are not adequately designed for it.

That is what I thought...

Some states wont even let people sell leaded race gas...

So long as its a modern engine with hardened exhaust valve seats you dont need it and it kills o2 sensors as bad as some gates.. Why run it given the options?

To make stupid amounts of power and boost we run only C16 or other assorted very high octane fuels which are all leaded. Other then that I would run the Turbosmart's since they just flow better.

I just cant stand the price of those fuels..

VP
Motorsport 109 is about the highest octane unleaded fuel around..

I also like my wideband closed loop setups.

I will stick with my E85 street and E98 track program.. It works and even IRL agrees.

I have been running C16 on my Supra for years with my AEM and wideband. Sensor is still fine and calculating my fuel just fine. Just take the sensor off every 6 months or so and clean it properly.

Also the price of race fuel these days is not that bad...especially when compared to $3.00/gal 93 octane. To me its safe insurance on a large investment.

Also to run straight E85 you better have big fuel pump, and BIG injectors to support 1000rwhp. We have run it on some roadrace cars, but with a stoich of 9.7:1 it drinks fuel.

I run a SX inline and 1680cc injectors.... E85 is'nt bad... Look at the GM trucks fuel system... Its when you go to 98%..

I get decent milage from the 85% mix... Its still less MPG than gas but at $1.65 gal for my last fill plus being able to have full boost at the bequest of my right foot at all times its a good buy. The miles per dollar spread is'nt as wide and the performance is a good entertainment expense.
