Default Poweryne belt slipping, HELP!!

So I have the 6psi kit on my car now, and I have a major problem. The belt (serpentine, main one) is slipping i think. When I step on it I can hear the charger whine up a little bit and the car doesn't move. I can put the pedal to the floor and all i hear is a wierd rubbing almost and the car does not accelerate. Why could this be? Can anyone help me out who might have had similar issues?

I was changing my belt monthly when I had a powerdyne. It would let go at about 5600 RPM. Ka-tech makes a billet tensioner that helps keep torque on the belt, but you are never going to get out of changing it a lot.

I have a tensioner pulley but i've heard if you keep it too tight you will put too much stress on the pulleys bearings and it could seize up causing slippage.

geez, how does this shitty company stay in business. same EXACT stories on the Mustang boards. although some (well about 3 people on the biggest mustang board) would swear by them as long as you keep it at the stock recommended boost.

i don't think your describing belt slip, I think you have something else wrong going on.

you say the car literally doesn't accellerate?

how are you tuning the car? how can you be running the car without the proper guages to know what is going on?

have you ever dealt with a blower before? as in any idea what you should expect or know how to troubleshoot?

my advice is get it to somebody who knows what they are doing right away before you unecessarily break something or cause bigger problems.

everyone is spitting out crap on how poor the setup is. it works fine. you should get little to no slip with the 6psi pulley and be able to make just over 400rwhp.

the powerdyne was my first kit for my ls1 and it served me very well for 2 years. no issues. I know it inside and out.

The car was being tuned with HP tuners. No i haven't had a blower before. I do recognize that it is possible that the car just knocks like crazy when I step on it, but the sounds I hear sound like belt slippage. I am in no need for more at this moment, merely to get it to work. I was just hoping that someone might have some insight for me.

There are alot of members here that have gotten them to work fine. Someone has to recognize your problem, don't worry.

Perhaps a transmission/converter issue?

Well I can help ya if you like, just let me know.

I know all the little tricks to get it running right.

and I would agree with the fellows above, sounds like a tranny or some other issue.

only problem you would have if the blower belt was slipping is it would feel slower than when it didn't slip.

p.s. what the heck do weather conditions have to do with tuning?

I would be leary of a shop that can't tune due to the weather????

Tuning isn't dyno tuning. The tuning was done with HP tuners while driving to collect data. Its more realistic and accurate because you get to tune to actual road conditions, airflow, etc. I just put another belt on today and this belt shredded while i was driving. It is the second time this has happened. When the car was idling and below like 2500 rpm while driving, everything was fine. When it reached higher rpm i heard slipping and squeeling. I think that it may be due to the supercharger itself. Could it be possible that the supercharger is not spinning smoothly and creating reisistance? If that is possible, then it could mean that all of the other pulleys are working at the correct speed causing the belt to move faster than the blower pulley. Any input?
