Alright guys, I am having somewhat of a problem with how much boost the car is running. First of all my mods are in my sig. The car is making 420 rwhp 440 rwtq at 4000 rpms, that is when they shut it down. I have the t70 set for seven psi, but they are telling me that it is making 8 psi at 3500rpms. They are worried that the cylinder pressure is going to be to high. They say I have a couple of options, stock cam, stall coneverter, or lower the boost with a 4lb spring. I guess the car is running out of fuel or something. Maybe you guys could shed some light on what I should do. BTW stock shortblock and heads. Sorry if I dont know what I am talking about I am new to FI.

A 255 pump and 60 lb injectors shouldn't be anywhere near maxxed at 420... since they stopped the pull at around 3500, are you saying you made 420 HP at 3500RPMS?

-edit-

doh, can't read.... @ 4K.

Sorry guys my mistake it is not running out of fuel. Now they believ that they have the wrong spring in the wastegate. We are going to try the smaller spring and see what happens.

Use the smallest spring you have; set the crack point in the boost controller....

just because you have a 7 psi spring doesn't mean it will make exactly 7 psi. you may see 9-10 psi even, not sure what kind of gates they sell on teh kit.

just curious, why the huge cam? You are stock cubes with stock heads correct?

I would switch back to the stocker

Tiago its the turbosmart gate. Also the spring is only as good as the reference. I like to reference my gates off the compressor scroll. Typically gives better feedback to the gate and also will hold the boost about 1-2 psi lower then off the intake. Its easy to tap the compressor cover for a fitting. MP unfortunately does not tap them like ourselves and other vendors.

Yes they should make some more pulls tonight. Atleast I hope so. I picked this cam because I will be going to a 402 in the near future. Also this cam makes great power on stock cubes. (EPP's blue twin turbo corvette)

Well they put the smaller spring in and it still is seeing the same amount of boost. Does this mean that the wastegate that is supplied with the kit is to small? I guess I am going to buy the eboost 2 in hopes I can limit the boost at low rpms. Does this sound like a good idea?

Double check you have your wastegate set up correctly. If you have a boost controller something in there might be throwing you off. Double check everything.

And you should be able to handle 7-9 psi with your fuel setup (atleast for a dyno run). Just make sure the tune is decent.

When you figure this out, it will have been something simple.

So its making 8psi and still climbing? Or they think 8psi is to much and if so what do they base this off of? Car detonating? If the car is making 8psi and you have the fuel setup then I wouldn't see a problem, as long as the car is NOT detonating. 500hp should be easy with that kit.

EDIT: just read your last post and I think you have the boost controller hooked up wrong. PTK would not supply a undersized WG for thier kit. Maybe try and pull the boost controller off and just hook up the wastegate.

I run the same wastegate (Turbosmart 38) with my PTE88 and a 383 down to 5-6psi. Your gate is not to small....
