Default Whipple 3.3L tuner kit vs. Starr Performance 3.3L kit

does anyone know what the difference it between the 2 kits? Other than one is in California and one is in Australia. I think they would both end up being somewhere around $10,000 when it's all said and done.

ithink the star kit is a ready to run set up! the whipple will leave you to do/make the bits and bobbs needed to get it to work.

Still, 10K for a 3.3ready to run would be great!!!

Chris.

PS i thought the Star was more than that! i think i heard $15K AUS for the 3.3!!!!

correct me if i'm wrong please. won't the 3.3 whipple make a hell of a lot more power than the livernoise 76mm turbo? I saw their escalade ran 12.88 with their biggest turbo. impressive sure, but, i ran damn close to that with a 2.3 whipple and i am a few hundred lbs more race weight.

am i way off base here?

The big question of the day is whether the Whipple kit is even shipping yet.

You sure you're heavier? That thing was loaded to the gills with stereo
equipment/TV's/24" wheels, etc. It was well over 6,000lbs. Besides, that motor
was 100% bone stock. Build the bottom end up, crank up the boost, and
enjoy the ride. I gaurantee it would've went low 12's with the stock wheels
and stock weight with the boost turned up. That was a cruisin' truck, not
a racer so they didn't care really.

What was your mph?

I've yet to see a Whipple 3.3L on anything but a '03 Cobra.

my race weight is 6140lbs. totally stock 6.0L here also. i'm not questioning the escalade that livernois put together, it rocked. i'm simply stating, i can't imagine the 3.3L whipple won't make more power. it will probably compete with a F1R. The starr kit is available. I have been talking to peter starr via email. not that i can afford it right now anyway, just wondering.

Starr quoted me $16,000AUD for his 3.3 kit complete.I bought his intake and pre-supercharger manifold complete and a 3.3 from Whipple I'm doing my own drive system based on my Magnacharger pulleys and an underdrive crank pulley.I'm going to pulley for 14lbs of boost with my 403 cid stroker.

this is a direct quote from Peter Starr.

The complete package in satin finish with the 3.3L compressor, excluding the heat exchanger, air box/ hose, tune would be $11,900.00 AUD or about $8,950.00 USD + imports and taxes.

I've yet to see a Whipple 3.3L on anything but a '03 Cobra.

I ran 12.20's in a Silverado SS w/ a 224 cam and a 200shot.On 20's and street tires.Then mid/low 11's with heads/231-237 and the same shot on 22's w/street tires.This was done on PUMP gas.

Seems to me like these FI kits aren't giving you any serious bang for the buck as of yet.

Kenne Bell uses Autorotor exclusively don't they?
I thought KB had an exclusive deal w/ Autorotor for North America.

this is such a shame! this could be a really good kit for the "off road" people! but if the company can't even get the basics right, then whats the point?????????

Chris.
