Default Do I need tuning for 5 # of boost

I have a 255 Walboro in tank pump, if I get 60 # injectors and a MAF translator, do I still need tuning or would the MAF sensor compensate?

yes. Also if you put in the injectors before getting the injector size in the computer fixed you will be dumping TONS of fuel and might wash down a cylinder.

You need a tune regardless of amount of boost.

But why can't the MAF sensor compensate for the extra airflow?

A tune is absolutely required.

Regardless of if the MAF sensor can or can't handle the extra airflow, switching from your stock injectors to 60 pounders is like the difference between a squirt gun and a volcano. You'd need a tune for that alone.

If you do not tune IFR for those injectors you'll wash the cylinders down in no time flat. Tune is ABSOLUTELY required if you want to save your motor, sparkplugs and cats (if you run them)

I was figuring I could just use a MAF translator to compensate for the larger injectors couldn't I?

Some part of your tune is going to be off no matter how you use the MAF translator. As much as you have invested in that car its not worth taking a short cut now.

You figured wrong. Tuning is not optional.

Unless they have changed the maf to new one and think the new ones are coming out then the old ones don't have enough range to run that big an injector.
Aside from that the only real tuning you use for the turbo is richening up the mixtures and maybe taking out some timing. The new maft or maft pro could mabye do the job.
I have used the mafts on several cars including turbo talons with big turbos no problem but they are set up on those to compensate for big injectors and have proper injector calibration not just 10% type crap like my old maft.
I did plan on think hp tuners for my current twin turbo bulid up.

A tune is much cheaper than a new engine. Bob

Using an MAFT to tune boost and 60# injectors is like using bandaids to bandage up a compound fracture. Try running on either and you're gonna fall flat on your face.
