78mm Y2K turbo or Hi.
Need some help and suggestions?
I have a (stock, but will get a forged bottom and a built trans) LS1/T56 combo in my 86 Monte Carlo and I'm ready to put some more hp in the car.
My budget is about 9000-10000$, but will try to keep the cost down by doing most of the work my self but will NOT save money on parts...only the best is good enough
I have to options I'm interested in.
1. T6 flanged dual ballbearing 78mm Turbonetics Y2K unit with front mount intercooler and snow stage 2 meth-kit.

Need some help deciding witch way to go so please give me your opinion.

Turbo will make more power. If you have a limited budget, don't spend the $1k on a ball bearing turbo. There's very little benefit for alot of $$$.

After talking to forcedinductions.com we decided that if I want max boost before 3000rpm and want a turbo that can make more than 1000hp, I would need a T6 flanged flanged Y2K turbo with dual ballbearing.

Thanks for all the turbo suggestions, but if (most likely) I go with turbo the choice of unit has already been made.
Isn't there any of you who like the Wipple charger?

Maybe it's funny but I have 2 different setup I'm interested in.
The choice of turbo unit was chosen by Jose at forcedinductions.com based on my setup and how I wanted it to perform. I'm sure I could have used a lot of other units but have used turbonetics before and trust Jose when it comes to selecting turbos.
My question was more like -what is more fun: A turbocharger or a 200cui Whipple charger?
Edit: 2002 Trans Am, that was the right way of explaining my thoughts
