high HP, what recommended mods for Oiling system?
high HP, what recommended mods for Oiling system? just wanted to see what is recommended when reaching high hp levels, 800-1000rwhp or more. will stock wet system be sufficient with proper care or will a dry sump be necessary?
How about a scavenge, high volume pump that picks up after our stock system and supplies more oiling to the engine? Something that compliments the stock system without having to deal with the high cost of a complete dry sump kit.

anyways, i was looking at the canton unit. have had in mind ever since i saw it in an article, that system has been on the back of my mind.
Well, i do have a ported pump and my oil pressure is pretty solid for n/a. But i want some more headroom with this much power.
Kyle, that pump suppliments your stock oil pump? Is that gear driven? Any pics of how it is installed?

The only real reasons you NEED A dry sump:
1) you turn left and right A LOT!
2) You setup to oil the valve train through the vavle covers
3) you are looking to help creat vacume in the crank case to free up horsepower
4) you have lots of money.
High flow oil pump, good crankcase vent setup, and an accumulator (if you're concerned about loss of oil pressure) will do ya.
