Question for you higher horsepower FI guy - DRs, cold, and tire shake?
Not entirely sure what was going on last night so I figured I would post up and see if anybody else has had this happen.
Last night here in phx it was below freezing and I was driving my turbo camaro home. Well after testing a few things I was running about 14 psi on good gas and it makes about ~740 rwhp at that boost level. When I wacked it on the freeway at about 75 mph with the 315 BFG DRs it started to break loose and started to "shake" pretty badly, almost like the DRs started to skip on the ground. It literally felt like the rear was going to come out from underneath me. I got home, checked underneath to make sure everything was tight and went out again to test it and it did it again! On 10 psi it didn't have any issues. Has anybody experienced this before? Is it related somehow to just being too cold outside with the DRs, concrete freeways, and too much power for traction? Pretty weird and it's never done this before, just spun.

I dunno if it's just cold... but weeks ago when the temp was around freezin early one morning, I rolled into mine in second gear and pedaled and put it back down to get the nittos warmed up. I was seeing almost 16psi in the cold air and rolled into it in third and had that same 'shake' feeling... grabbing hard and jumping. I thought my car was gonna **** the ten bolt on the interstate so I got right out. I repeated this to a T a few days later again in the freezing air. It's definitely not a normal thing or my 12 bolt would already be under the car.

Yup, I don't have a boosted car but I used to have some VERY worn out Nitto's, on a really cold day I could nail it in 3rd and have the *** end start to break loose and it would do the same thing your describing...it's HELL on the drivetrain!

That's kind of what I figured guys, DRs + freezing weather = tire shake/wheel hop with decent power. It hardly ever gets this cold in phoenix which explains why it's never happened before. I checked everything underneath the rear and there was nothing loose and everything was still good from when I originally set it up.
