Default Can u run a lumpy cam w/a blower?

I noticed most "Blower cams" have a numerically higher LSA number than other cams, I know why, for flow and idle and rpm efficiantcy to suppot the boost from the blower, BUT can you get a blower cam to do ALL the right things for power and efficiantcy but have a "lumpy" idle like the old muscle cars that we love to listen to??

It seems like the cams that have more lobe, combined with an FI setup, don't create the same power levels as the ones with less of a lobe do. But, you can definatly still run it, and definatly can still make some BIG power. Take my cars setup for example, I'm running a custom cam (244/254 @ .050, .578/.578 lift, 114* LSA) with my D1SC, and I still put out some decent numbers. Plus I love the lobe it has with the whistle.

Here's the dyno vid;

Ohh very nice.

So perhaps its a trade off then, to wanna run a custum cam that has more lump (less LSA- say 112-111) u will prob make less power.

Am I wrong, so to speak on that?

I think mine has just a little less potential to make power than a lesser agressive cam would. But it was custom ground by my engine builder specifically for my blower motor, so it still makes some nasty power.

WOW, that is a big healty cam on a stock cubed f/i ls1/6 motor, ME LIKEY!!
IS that the cam you typically recommond for your forced induction customers running stock cubed forged LS1/6/2 motors or even stock shortblocks for that matter (other than the cam of course)!

It is the cam I recommend if the customer wants a cool sounding camshaft. We have used this cam and the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam on many builds, it depends on if the customer wants a smooth sounding cam, or a thumper.
The first car we used it in was this one, which has a 346 that we built.

Here is a video of it, you can hear the tires break loose in fourth gear, right before we got out of it. We just couldn't get any traction, even with the two guys in the trunk, one inside the back, and two extra straps tying the car directly down to the dyno.

The only problem is tuning in a big Cam.The low vacuum and irratic idle rpm can throw the tune a bit.It is easier to tune if it is done in a SD setup.

A good tuner should be able to put a good tune in with a solid idle even with a big cam without going to an SD setup.

I have my cam all tuned and its perfect...so adding a turbo shouldn't be that big of a problem

but if the MS3 is just a total waste for boost, looks like i have to do another swap
