These turbos are not ball bearing turbos. The vette kit think has more expensive bb turbos but this kit is using conventional turbos modified mitsubishi 20gs. They are still a good turbo very reliable and sure will still spool up plenty fast on our big v8s.

That's all I was really looking for Peter; a "highest recommended oil pressure for the turbos" comment. I'm sure we all will have varying pressures based on application. I just didn't want your assumptions on oil pressure to be based on the 90Kmile sample you have in the shop. Some of us will be buying a well built 370, 402, 408...etc and they will no doubt have high volume fuel pumps from manufacturer. I've seen these pumps operate at 75psi.

Hey Peter, I believe that you mentioned that APS was gonna supply a base tune with HPtuners but what about us EFIlive guys? I'm sure the field is split in half between the two tuning systems.

Well final instructions are up on the website. Looking over the final instructions.
Few things come to mind. There is a lot more work and a little more modification than I thought there would be. Not overly worried will take my time and sure can handle it but just a bit more involved.
Also wondering is there going to be any problem using high temp rtv in several places rather than actual gaskets. For example between turbo and exhaust manifolds,etc?
Also while quality looks very high for the most part , was a bit surprised to see cheap worm gear clamps used in places like intercooler piping. T bolt clamps are much better. Now seeing how this is only a 7.5 psi setup stock I guess they might hold ok. I am used to 30psi setups in my dsm cars and t bolts are pretty much essential at those type of boost levels.
I am sure as some of us start doing the actual install some tips and tricks will come out.
After reading the instructions and seeing all the pics and inventory pics the kit now feels finally real to me and the excitement level is high. Considering if all goes well that could have all this hardware sitting here within an month or so is pretty awe inspiring. I am just trying to focus on how much more fun my car will be with the kit on there. To get in the mood have been lucky enough to get ride in one buddies sts rear mount 2000 camaro at 5psi and other buddies twin turbo super modded up 3000 vr4. I have my own turbo 91 laser with mild mods and my super modded but currently dead in garage 97 talon to give me past,present and future turbo experience.
I am hoping my 99 trans am will be my fastest car whose honor belonged to my 97 talon with estimated 650 engine hp potential. I realize my 99 trans am when first run the kit on near stock engine will likely do about the same as the 97 talon at max potential.
And plans are for 408 or 427 and shooting for the magic 1000 engine hp mark with the aps kit within a year or two. Pretty confident that can reach those goals.
Anyway kit looks great and instructions look very well done and reasonably straight forward and understandable. Looks like full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes!
I have been using my waiting time to get some things that am going to need anyway for the kit. I have bought hptuners and am running it already to get familiar with it. While its not simple and overly user friendly I am getting it to work. Planning on speed density tuning likely when go to the bigger engine with big cam and good heads. Leaning now to gt11 type of cam instead of my milder gt 7 lingenfelter cam. And some afr 225 most likely.
I have just ordered 60 pound injectors and have bmr k member ordered up.
Still need to order y pipe and not sure which to get as want stainless ypipe if possible. Also installed nice electric cutout and bought and installed textralia twin disc. Will have to wait a bit for new rear end. Already did a lot of suspension and brake mods in past. Hoping that my 3/4 to 1 inch drop with slp firehawk springs works out ok and dont have to go back to stock height.I can crank up my shocks to help in that regard also.

I have plx 300 wideband, plan on alc/meth injection and still have a few more gauges to order and possibly boost controller.
