Boosted 6 speed 60ft's
Now with 275-40-17 MT et street radials, stock suspension (bilstein level 2), spohn torque arm and mcleod twin disc it pulls 1.54-1.60 60ft's slipping the clutch out at 5k+.
with the two step it would cut 1.7's or break something..

From that point, when I launch, I simultaneously feed in the gas and clutch. The key is to do it very quickly, but very smoothly. When it's right it feels like you launched the car with a nice torque converter and not a clutch. Whack the accelerator to the floor or let the clutch pop up and you've either bogged it or the tires are history. I pivot my feet on my heels for both the clutch and gas when slipping it out.
Tires are also very important. The MT street radials really impress me. I use the same technique when I'm running my car on the Goodyear GSD3's but it's still a second slower because their is so much less traction (10.8 on the GSD3's and 9.8 on the MT's).
Also, I would never do it with a single disc clutch and if you're launching this aggressively with a stock rearend, have a tow truck on standby.
i agree this will work....but only a hand full of passes.......if you want your clutch to last.......put a 2-step in the car.......a 2-step is no big deal to install and is way better of the car, not to mention it makes the car way more consistent and you can actually leave with boost, so your 60 foot's will be way better.
Depends on the tire. My car went nowhere trying to launch it with the 2-step on radials.
fletchls1- 20-22psi in the tires
I wouldnt say they were particularly hard launches though. Im still exploring the grip available with the MT DR's, so I fully hope to see those times drop a fair bit this year with a hard launch.
Might be late april or so before I get to a proper drag strip though.
Most Ive tried is about 4500rpm, modulating the throttle, and with a little bit of clutch slip. Tex OZ700.
Best run was 1.73 60ft.....missed 4th gear tho. Best ET was with a 1.758 60ft. MTDR's at about 15psi hot.
Seeing as its gripped everytime, I know I can try a lot harder than that.
