TT vs Big Single Turbo
Which is better for a track setup? I’d assume a good TT setup would be ideal b/c it would be less stressful on the motor and turbo. Generally speaking you’d be able to make the same power w/ less stress on the turbo units. An example would be 2 turbos at 15psi then 1 single turbo a 23psi.
Any opinions?
I have a GT47-88 and I wonder if it’d be beneficial to go w/ a TT setup.

With a well matched system it will not mater whether or not you use two or one turbo and 15 lbs of boost is 15 pounds of boost. It doesn't make a difference whether you have two turbos the air flow is the only divided factor involved because boost is manifold pressure not just air flow from each turbo. One of the reasons why people run a single is they are less complicated to package and the large turbos can flow a significant amount of air but then again two can also. It all comes down to preference and goals. What are yours and knowing that will help you pick which path to go. One opinion I have is that two tubos can spool a tad quicker than a big single but that is just my opinion. I have a mustang with an 88mm on it and a now building a LS2 with twin 60-1s for my "55" Chevy but I have different goals on each car.

if you have the funds and are going to do everything right... a twin setup is generely most efficient.
But single is cheaper... and its a track car so t-brake (if auto) and a 2-step will take care of spooling off the line problems.
Spool also has a lot to do with the tune... and i wouldn't even know what to recommend in the tune there because the LSx likes a LOT LESS timing than a SBC/LTx

i ususally race on the highway and i always wanted a BIG single...... if i was to do more track times then a twin set up would be MY route. but i think since you do most of your running on the track then the twin set up would prob be the way to go. im not a genious or an engineer, just basing my opinion on what i've learned here on LS1TECH
