Anyhow, after 6 passes I will say that the top end has improved but until I get on some better tires I would say the 60 foots have dropped off a little. Car is running 145-146mph in 2200' DA which is pretty darn good.
For the sake of completeness, what did it run with the smaller cam?

That's just the kind of false generalizations that get spread around the internet, that we all need to question. Do you realize the old Buick Turbo GN's came stock on a 106 LSA?

Those are also 6 cylinders engines that are completely different. You also used the key word stock.

In bowling green 2 weeks ago with 500 foot better DA it ran 9.40 @ 144 with a better 60 foot, My car is very dependant on ambient temp with an A2A, but it was running .12-.15 faster then the TAG predicts it should which is surprising, that thing is pretty accurate with this car.

As far as LSA's I really dont want to start the while wide/narrow LSA debate again, wasnt my intention. Main thing is I ddint appear to LOSE anything so a few more passes with some slicks are in order, but I'll probably hit it with the bigger blower next time out - thats where I'm hoping to see some improvement.

Few passes from yesterday whenever it gets optimized, got my butt whipped good, could have ran the 10.0 class and had a chance of winning a few bucks but I was more concerned with testing the new cam and hanging out.

Seems like you made a good choice so far, can't wait to see what more passes will net you.

Okay, so all modified V-8's with forced inductions should use cams with a 113 LSA or higher? Shouldn't we be discussing overlap rather than LSA anyway?

It just sounds like a bigger cam then what was in it Idle sound really doesnt matter that much to me. I can idle it at 750 rpm @ 15:1 a/f and it sounds radical or I can idle it at 12:1 a/f and 1000rpm and it sounds very tame..

I didn't say that. Comparing a stock v6 that came with a turbo system to a modified v8 with an aftermarket FI system is an awful choice for arguments sake. There's too many variables to make an accurate and enlightening comparison.

I will agree with that to an extent, but that is generally why most will choose a higher LSA because GENERALLY it will have less over lap depending on the cams specs to which all the factors come to play of a cams performance in what ever application. I am by no means a cam guru so don't get to technical although I worked with a couple different people at comp cams for many applications of mine or friends and so I have gotten decent at picking cam specs for myself or friends that wanted my help etc... Turbo cars are different so you can't just throught them in the FI catagory with out special consideration lol. I wasn't trying to get in a big cam debat, but passing out a little advice not passing out the you got to do this statement by any means LOL!

My point exactly. There are too many variables when choosing a cam to make the sweeping generalization that 113+ LSA is good for FI. It so happens that most use 114, but that doesn't mean its right or best. It just means that people have been spreading around this bad advice for way too long.

Yea, we sat and BS'd for quite a while, nicely done car, at least I had him beat until zbout 70' out lol. Funny thing was he was telling me how he blew 2 trailer tires on the way there and I blew up two trailer tires on the way back - lots of fun when you only have one spare. If you never take any of my advice take this, dont buy Chinese ST trailer tires, less then a year and 5000 miles on them. Tore the crap out of my trailer as well
