it is a very tight fit.. everything somehow fits in there though..

looking at a picture of everything that has to go in the and the space you have to work with you would think no way.. but it does

you really do need to wrap the headers and exhaust, also move the coil packs, turbo headers get way hotter than n/a headers

alot hotter. also due to the route they take everything in the engine bay gets alot hotter! lol

really though, all the guys i have seen with the PTK/S kits all run coated manifolds WITH at least 1 layer of wrap, most opt for 2 layers!

was tranaformers any good?? its not out here (uk) till the end of the month!

Good Luck!!!!

He is LITERALLY going to MELT his engine bay. I imagine he does not want to do it because it *looks* nice, which it does I might add. But taking into consideration the overall cost of the system, it couldn't be because of the cost of headers wrap as it is dirt cheap.

This is why he should wrap the kit:

1. Turbo manifolds get significantly hotter than headers.

2. The headers are next to what? -The block and the firewall, which are metal. But nothing plastic. The manifolds are going to be sitting next to alot of plastic. Fuel Rail Covers, Coil Packs, Fuse Panel, Wire Loom (you can't relocate everything far enough), and THE HOOD. The hood will get major heat spots that will discolor and the paint will eventually peel off like skin from a sunburn.

3. Not only do the turbo manifolds get hotter than headers, but these manifolds in particular are mounted where? In the UPPER engine bay, where they will not get the kind of cooling headers get from being mounted under the car.

To sum it up: The turbo manifolds get hotter. They are close to everything that can melt vs. nothing that can melt. And they won't get the kind of airflow that the headers would get so they will not cool as fast and will therefore retain heat longer.

If you choose to ignore the warnings, then live and learn I guess. It sure was a nice Vette. And it's gonna be an expensive experiment.

The price he paid for this kit was unreal. Even if the turbochargers are garbage, the hot parts alone were well worth the price.
I didn't get to see the intercooler, but the headers and downpipe were well built. TIG welded 304 stainless, with the internal passages ground and sandpaper rolled.
I don't know to what accuracy, but there were some earlier comments about the turbos not being balanced. When I had them apart to coat the turbines, I found that they were balanced.

Nice work you guys did there on his hot parts.

Glad to hear that the kit looks pretty decent from your perspective....I'd hate to see a member get ripped off on one of those fleabaykits.

I didn't see the whole kit, but what I saw I liked (My feelings on the US-China trade deficit nonwithstanding) As long as they fit the car well, there's not much room for improvement on the hot parts, and the turbos... Im not an engineer, so my opinion on those is "see how long they last"
