Unhappy Debrits & STS (pics) need help!

Here is the result after a pipe repair in my STS system.

What do you think? my head unit is fu..ed?...

What the fudd happen??? Did u have somthin weldid? Looks like slat or a rock got in there. Your turbo looks done time to upgrade!!!

Ouch! Yeah I would say that it's done! Even if you tried to use it, it would vibrate itself to death and build little to no boost.

Sorry for your loss but like "OUTLAWZ RACING" stated, "time for an upgrade".

I had an STS system way back in the day... I went over a bridge in Birmingham, AL and ripped the hot side off the exhaust manifolds. I had it welded up and some weld slag ruined my turbo... When I took it apart the crappy "jet hot coat" on the filter pipe inlet side wasn't baked properly and I'd been sucking huge chips of it into the turbo and eventually after making the 2 mile travel through the intake piping my motor. I lost my *** on that kit. Hindsight is 20-20 I suppose.

thats pretty shitty, had my kit since march of last year and making 500 now and 540 pretty soon with 8psi hopefully

The turbine blades in my front-mount T76GTS looks almost like that. One of the water cross-over tube seals fell in the crossover pipe and wound up in the snail. I'm still running it and making excellent power. I even borrowed a friend's brand new T76GTS to see if it made a difference and I couldn't tell anything using the highly scientific GTech method of testing.

Take it to a turbo shop, maybe they can grind out the really bad spots and balance it again. My suggestion is Majestic Turbo in Dallas, talk to Dave.

I've seen quite a few Rebuilt turbos for Detroit Diesels that had some kind of damage to the turbine. The blades were cleaned up a bit and everything was balanced. In your case, you might be able to save that turbo.
