we are sealing that kind of power on std cometics stock size bolts - on nitrous cars. Alot of it like Erik said is in the tuning, and other small stuff those felpros look nice

The guys that are just pushing stuff too hard, will find out when you put a sick gasket or something on it and it takes the head with it if it wants to go vs a gaskets.

I you have 800 hp and gasket problems, its probbaly not really a gasket problem

Agree, I feel most of peoples head gasket issues are from detonation. With a good tune the 3 layer MLS gaskets do fine up to about 18-20 lbs of boost.

some info from me
i was running about 13* 11:1 afr down the track of timing 23# boost
stock replacement arp studs, ls2 block, no filler, no welding, first gen all pro ls heads as cast no welding. 156.5mph on a 3850# car, give or take 1200 horse. these gaskets probably had 20 passes all over 145mph and 5,000 miles on them. um what else, stock ls6 intake, ngk 7173 plugs, mix of 93, 110 unleaded, and methanol going to the engine

I think we all would be surprised at how many guys are running a copper/MLS setup right now and making BIG power. Have you heard of Justice Racing Engines just up the road from us?

Yes, I completely agree. One of the badest set-ups on this forrum. I love how he can drive to and from the track on street tires and still run sick times. I couldn't imagine what that freight train, for weight, could run if it was on a diet running some slicks

I am going to do some searching and talk to some people.

I know if we can get 10,000HP compressors that put out 9,000psi per stroke to hold gaskets I am sure a car would do it. The compressors run the same way. IE crank, piston, rods, cylinder bore.

I did send a PM to Kurt about them, and other stuff a couple of weeks ago now....didnt get a response though.

I got the rest of the bits from Erik...still want to try a pair of these gaskets though.

My car has 11* of timing
Stock size ARP's
Iron block
ETP's
Same head gaskets for 2 1/2 years with zero issues (Cometic MLS)
C16
AR 3933's

Maybe try taking some timing out and see if it helps.
What thickness are the new gaskets? What is your Quench?
Got any new plans for next year?

i dunno thickness or quench

the engine is getting refreshed, getting my exhaust coated, and tyson is doing my cage. that taps me out for the winter break

So I'm taking from what I've read here that 18-20 psi on GM cast heads is the limit? I have a set of 317s on an iron block.
