I just read through your whole build. Sounds like a sweet set-up you got going there. Im sure that thing is going to haul some major *** for you guys. It also looked like you were having good luck with the stock ls1 in there. Good luck at the shootout.

147 @ 7000rpm is about right if the car has a 3.70 with 28" tires, if it has a 3.50 then time to look at the converter.
Tonight at Muncie Dragway the car went 9.989 at 139.86 at 7200 rpm...
The converter's definately a problem. No matter what we did, take timing out, add more timing, fuel, etc, the car would run 138-139 mph every run. It's going through at 7200 rpm to boot.
It didn't help that Muncie had stones on the starting line.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments, we appreciate it! Bob

Thats a lot of rpm for 140mph if it has a 3.70 gear, 60 foot must have been a little off too but not that bad for the first time out.

Just going to run it as-is or try to swap the converter out before the shootout?

10" Vigilante 5000 stall with a turbo 400 with a manual valve body and a tranny brake.

I'm going to try to find another converter Monday, hopefully. Bob

We're going to try to swap it. Tim from Moser has a good friend at Coan that he has shown my car to, and we're going to check Monday on one from him.

The track was in bad shape tonight, it had a lot of street rubber on it mixed in with gravel! We were surprised when the front end came up on one of the runs. The car was also breaking loose pretty bad in 3rd gear. Bob

ATI can have one out the door in 24 hours, had mine in 3 days. No complaints here and not that expensive really.

Prep will be great in Memphis so no worries about breaking loose in high gear there.

Thats good to know about ATI and about Memphis as well. There's just something about needing to use a scoop shovel on the starting line that just doesn't sit well with me...lol Bob

I'm sure if you can get it quicker if you overnight it, I have had a few converters in here and the ATI has always worked the best. I'm using an 8" 5500 and 7250 = 151mph with a 3.70 and 28" tires.

Thats how the tracks are here, gravel pits so all the gravel gets drug up to the line, I'm kinda used to it by now

Plenty of other good converters out there as well, getting a custom made one quick is the hard part. Either way 9.80s and 140 first time out is pretty good, only one way to find out if everything is right and now you know. Good job getting it cranked out so quick.

7200rpm and under 140 is pretty bad, figured with the 147 at 7000 on the dyno you would be OK but you never know until you hit the track. I'm sure you guys will have a second off those times after a few times out
