Default warped t6 flange from welding

I was building a nother turbo kit. working on the stainless steel t6 flange well i guess welding the piping to the flange i warped the flange. Do anyone think that if i bolt the exhaust housing to the t6 flange and heat it up as i tightend the bolts and let it cool off it will be back flat?

how bad is it warped?
if it`s like "taco" warped just cut it off and get a new one.

It´s a good idea to Bolt them to scrap heads to keep them from warping badly

allso preheat the flange, then it´s not as likely to warp but after welding i would suggest to mill the flange

Same as above. Get it machined flat.

The only thing you will bolt it to, that might flatten it, is a miracle if you can find one

well, if you have a lot of patience, and a sharp file, you could file it flat.

I have welded ~10 T4 flanges and not one has warped.... they were all mild steel, but it seems like you are using too much heat.

Just beat it flat with a hammer. Put some shim under it if your having trouble getting it real flat(so it overbends when you hit it.

GEt it milled, desnt matter how you weled it, it will now have a memory and as it cools it will pull back to its warped shape, unless you realy get it hot. With tig there is alot more heat input into the base metal compared to mig, even though the tig weld is a better weld. You could put it in a press and cold bent it also.

I run a pipe fab shop in Houston and deal with this (on a bit larger scale) all the time.

I did the same thing the first time I welded up my stainless crossover and flange. I just bought a thicker flange and worked slower with the welder and made a new one.
