Default Is a single gt4294 too much?

I am just getting started on my 70 camaro ls1 m6 install and I am wanting to go with a single front mount set up. The engine and trans are completly stock. I'm going with a 02 zo6 cam thats about it. I'm going to run truck manifolds and build the rest. From the research I've gathered a single gt4294 would work well am I wrong or am I even on the right track?

Much better units out there that are smaller, spool faster, and achieve more power.

Give us a call tomm. Be paitent with the phones as the ring all day long. But I would suggest a TC76. Spool VERY fast, makes more power and alot smaller and lighter packaging.

The GT42 is a great turbo....we run them on several cars and are pleased with the way they perform.

These cars don't run the GT4294, but they all WIN with Precision units...I just don't see the BW units winning like this.

Ahem...TC's are from Turbonetics

Also BW's are new to the gas. world. Go to the Performance diesel world and find a Garrett......you won't. All BW's.....we sell more BW units to diesels right now then we sell to Gas. apps. They are catching up though...

BW / Turbonetics / Masterpower / whatever....nothing wins and works like a Precision.

To each his own tho...I know alot of people are liking the other guys now, so I am interested to see how it all plays out.

Aren't GT series garret turbos????? That is what you pumped up in your first post. Then you seemed to switch your pumps to turbonetics. I'm lost.

I am talking about the GT series from Precision, which use a Garrett center section. I just think the Presicion/Garrett turbos get a bad rap on here....everyone always suggests the BW or turbonetics which I haven't seen to be as good over time as the PT/GT line.

NOT trying to battle anyone, just stating the OP has a good choice of turbo in his original post.

We build and recieve units from all the big three and keep a massive spreadsheet on failure rates. You would be suprised at the results....

My 76mm Garrett based turbo on a stock 346 would give me whatever I wanted below 2500 all day long. The spool time is in the kit design as much as anything else.

I agree with you on kit design. Take the same setup and put a TC unit with lighter wheels and a smaller compressor cover to fill and it will come on sooner. The Garrets are extremely nice but they are not the end all for every application. I am a fan of the BW stuff myself, but I know its not the God of all turbos for every application.
