i would think so considering its mostly alky. not AS much but still have the same effects as you would running pure alky.

It would be interesting to try, but it won't pull the latent heat like methanol will from the intake charge. Use caution, test it and tell us what happens!

How big would the injector be for 1000 hp on just e85 ? My guess would be close to 200#. WOW

probably a little smaller than just meth. going to start with 8 160's and see how far that gets us. step up when they run out.

i dont know that i want to be the guy living on the edge, probably try and intercool our latest project or run meth. going to start a new thread on meth.

I know that alcohol takes alot to detonate. My instructor in college builds top notch tractor pulling trucks with blown alcohol hemis. They run 12.5-1 compression and 55-60 lbs of boost thru a 14-71 hi helix blower. He says that if he could spin the blower faster he would. That says alot for detonation resistance. He is a well known with the nitro guys and has a huge name in the hemis and builds 2wd tractor pulling trucks. 3 time crew chief of the year when he was with the kodiac sled. he has no reason to lie. So i believe him.
In college we also had a tractor pulling tractor that was a six cylinder diesel block that has staged GIANT turbos ran 100+lbs of boost and made 3000 hp. Once again alchy is where its at. I just wish they sold e85 around me. But they dont.

i think when these guys say alkey that they are talking about meth. not e85. i have seen enough info to know meth can make the power without an intercooler. just dont know about e85.

I have the C5 from the contest. It make 1200rwhp on E85 with no intercooler. I am not planning on running one but will prob have to run water injection on it to get the IAT's down on the steet. I am using 160lb injectors and was at about 90% duty cylcle at 1200hp. I only made it to 5000rpm before I ran out of pump. If I had gone to 7000 I would have been out of injector. The guy with the Rambler in the contest had a set of 240lb injectors that he got from an outlaw or pro5.0 guy( I think Steve Petty). He was making 1640 and still had some injector left. It is definetly doable and reliable. I've been running E85 for 3 years now and its flex fuel, have had no problems caused by the fuel.
