A Few Procharger Questions...
A Few Procharger Questions... Just wondering how streetable a p1sc is on a stock block? Im wondering cause my TA is my daily driver...and now Im kinda having second thoughts on the setup and thinking maybe I should just do H/C/E and a 100-150 shot and make around the same power. The car never sees the track, its just a daily driven street car. THATS IT.
Keep in mind that I want to be able to drive the car comfortably on the streets too.
Also how reliable would a low boost set up be? I really dont want to have to rebuild the motor until the car is paid off. Which would be like 4 years
I do plan on putting in a cam with the kit as well but will probably lower the boost to compensate for the added horsepower. Will this in any way affect the reliability of the motor? I figure less boost and the same hp would probably be safer.

My friend with Z28 D1SC Forged 346ci cammed and he daily drive his car with no problems at all he runnning 8psi for now.
I say get D1SC with full exahust and cam you can daily drive the car with 500+rwhp at 8psi but you must get a good fuel system and great tune.

Depending on driving habits the motor will either last several years or maybe not even one. Just part of the game. Have to pay to play.
Should def. consider going with the d1sc kit if you're going to buy a brand new kit. Only a couple hundred more to upgrade. I went with p1sc kit only because i got it dirt cheap.

IMO a boosted engine will last longer than a sprayed engine making the same power. My reasoning for this is that with nitrous, you get a sudden hit on your internals once the shot comes on. That has to be way harder on components than gradually building up the boost like a procharger would! (I would think anyways). I'd say go with the procharger. But don't get a P1 unless you just happen to find a smokin deal on one. As Bob said, it will limit you in the future. .02

Boost reliability A friend of mine has had a Vortec kit running 9lbs on his completely stock 2002 LS1 Z-28 for over 35K. It makes 9 psi and runs 11.40's in cool weather on sticky tires. It is an A4 with a 3000 stall and Moser 12 bolt with 3.42's. For fuel system upgrades its using a Walbro in-line pump in conjunction with the stock intank fuel module and 42lbs injectors. Mail tune. doesn't even have headers, just a Borla cat-back

I went 20k on my stock long block with a procharger. Could have gone a lot more if I didn't have a problem with the mecham hood dumping water right into the bypass valve when it rained What would be a good DAILY DRIVER cam that would go good with the procharger? I dont want any surging, bucking, stalling etc etc. But still would like a little bit of lope but not to much.
