Default Turbonetics Failures?

I was reading through several threads on both Honda-Tech as well as Supraforums about Turbonetics failures. Most of these threads were several years old so I am wondering if the quality level has come up? Has anyone on here had any trouble with their turbonetics turbo?

My 76 is a Turbonetics.

Strange they'd be subject for frequent failures considering they have one of the strongest turbocharger warranty programs out there.

I friend of mine had a Turbonetics T04E that went bad on him. He didn't use anti-lag or anything. Something happened with the shaft.

Not trying to start **** or anything, just making sure I know what I am buying.

Nothing wrong with T-netics. They actually have one of the best failure rates in the industry per every 100 units sold.

The older stuff was Garrett based anyway, so if that's the case, then it was garrett units that were having the failures.

We had some turbonetics gtk 550 failures..
9 passes and the comp wheel was rubbing the housing.
being across the large pond in Australia, they were sent back, and repaired, upgraded, etc.... with in 3 weeks, all over Christmas too.

Best service ever....
They asked what else they could do to help out, and where great to talk to.
Upgraded from twin gtk 550 's to gtk 1000/ 850 hybrids for free.
I will buy turbonetics again.

All manufactures have failures. Ask one of the big EVO companies how many BW's they blew up back to back to back on just dyno pulls that was posted on the EVO forum.

Disclaimer: Those were not BW units from us

Turbochargers are a product of there own envirement.. Yes all manufactures have failures but most of the time its caused by something else, like contamination, lack of lube, FOD, and so on...

was not going to print this, BUT
after looking into this problem a bit more, i asked the question why?
why did they fail?
will the new turbo's fail from the same problem?
is it the design?
was it me that caused thm to fail?
was it my driving style? or operational of the drag car?

answer:
due to the increased sales of there turbonetics, the SERIAL number of my turbo's actually where not checked off on the VSR balancer....
Simply, they missed the final balance proceedure of the company.

Every one makes mistakes..
Congratulaions to turbonetics for there fast repair/ replace of there product..
