STS 1/4 mile times
What kit of times are you guys getting with the sts kits? I did a search and there are plenty of dyno numbers but not too many times. I have an '03 Z06 and just added the kit and seat of the pants tells me the car has slowed down. I had a Vortech kit before and ran 10.70's

What kit are you running and what kind of vortech were you running? What are the size of the turbos?
What mph did you go in the 1/4?
You may have slown down some if you have not tuned it. I saw an sts twin turbo vette got 10.40s at 137.

To answer your questions. Yes the I had the A&A Vortech kit on the same car with LG Motorsports Longtube headers and a 224/224 .580 114 lsa cam. The supercharger was a V-2 SQ. With this set up the car ran good et and I could launch like a baby. Vettes like to break the shafts in the rears if you lauch too hard. I had 1.60 to 1.65 60' times. Before I bought the vette I had always run import turbo cars and decided I really wanted a turbo again. Right now the car feels like a pig until it gets spooled up and and seat of the pants tells me this thing has slowed down alot. I took the headers off and put the factory manifolds and h pipe back on the car. I did this for two reasons. First because with the headers and turbos as mufflers it was way too loud. Second because I got stopped a couple of times in a couple of days for exhaust noise. STS claims you don't need the headers anyway because the turbos are the smallest part to the exhaust which makes sense. I bought the regualar C5 kit from STS with the .36 a/r t3/t4 T04B S-trim stage 3 setup. The kit itself is really nice and good quality. So basically the car has the sts kit and the same cam as the supercharger. I have started with the supercharger tune and I am going to tweak it. Next week I will hopefully get this thing on a dyno and get it tuned. Then I am going to the track to see what happens. A guy from a Corvette forum is helping me get the tune in the right direction. If anyone has suggestions on the timing tables that would be helpful. I have efilive and a wideband on the car. If I sound frusturated I am a little. I need to get it tuned to be fair. I have had very little time for my hobby the past few months. I just want it done an haul'n ***.

i haven't ran mine yet, so i can't tell ya. it didn't take long at all to tune mine, you just gotta realize that the first dyno pull doesn't count.... you gotta get the durn thing warmed up back there...even wrapped it takes a pull to get her warm. then ALWAYS make sure you got extra fuel down low to begin with, with FI...cuz the STS likes to spool quicker down low once she gets warm just a note for ya

We have a Mustang dyno at my work that we used to tune the A@A kit with the car completely stock except for the supercharger kit. At that time I think the car put down 450ish. I can't find the sheets on my computer right now. Anyway I don't know with the cam and headers. I put the kit on the car and within a week collapsed a lifter and bent a push rod. That lifter had ticked off an on since the car had 25 miles on it. Of course the dealer wouldn't replace it and gave me a pile reasons why it wasn't the lifter. When that happened I bought the cam and the comp cams valvetrain kit. I just used the autove and tweaked the timing. When I went to put my car back on the dyno at work we had a bad torque meter and it was giving bad data. The bad thing is I have access to a dyno but since I work in the R&D section we always have something on it. I can only get on that thing once or twice a year. The car ran good with that setup. I ran a best et of 10.77 @ 133.0 with a '60 of 1.63 At that time I was having clutch issues which I have worked out. I was boiling the clutch fluid from the header temps and couldn't alway shift through the gears. The pass after that was faster at the 1/8th but I couldn't shift into 4th. Needless to say I am getting tired of working on the car and just want to run.

This is a run I made a couple years ago when I was running my STS. Stock motor with bolt-ons pushing 9-10 pounds.

Well guys here is the update on the my sts turbos versus the old Vortech setup. I said in the beginning of this thread that the car ran 10.70's with the vortech. I took the car to MIR yesterday and this is what it ran.
60' 1.514
330 4.485
1/8 6.924
mph 101.96
1000 9.029
1/4 10.780
mph 129.52
Originally I thought the car had slowed down but I was mistaken. I found a typo in my pe table. When I was plugging in my desired afr I had mistakenly put in 85. for several cells not .85. Needless to say with some tuning the car went from 11.20's to 10.70's. It has more in it. I didn't even run the methanol and haven't had the car professionally tuned yet. I have an idea what I am doing but I am sure there is much to be desired in my tune. I will post a video link this week.

My car really ran good in the 1/8th but died on the top end, I was running 6.4-6.6 in the 1/8th at 105-108 with 1.48-1.57 60's. I was only trapping 132-134mph. I hope I have it all sorted out now so I can get into the 9's
