Default My murdered out turbo, and mani's

Hey guys. I will post more pictures tommorrow, and they will all be in my updated build thread, but i just got this stuff back tonight, and had to share.

Fyi, my entire kit will be flat black. Manifolds, hot pipes, turbo, ic pipes, dp, exhuast. It all will be black, and im looking into getting the ic Anodized flat black.

The manifolds, and hot side of turbo are ceramic coated black, and the charge side of the turbo is powder coated a flat black.

Anyways hear are the pics. The turbo is a GT4276 1.12A/R

Let me know what you all think, and i will get more pics up, and installed on the car tomorrow.

It looks nice, but black radiates heat better than any other color, which is exactly the opposite of what you want. I would personally say screw looks, and get silver.

To radiate is to cool down. And yes, matt black is the best @ radiating heat. Are you saying its a bad thing that my turbo and pipeing will cool down quicker then any other color? or are you thinking that it will heat soak more stuff because it is giving off more heat, rather then keep it in?

Im not sure. wondering.

My thinking.. Black is the best damn looking color for this stuff. I dont see the big hype over polish and chrome. I understand the time needed to make it look all pretty, but i dont think it looks best.

I used jet hot on my r6 with a micron high mount and it turned out great.

I loved my hid's on my bike!

Radiating heat is a bad thing while the motor is running, because heat is one component (very important) in driving the turbo. However, radiating heat is good when you shut down the engine, because it keeps your turbo bearings from coking. The problem with radiant heat to other components (heat soak), however, IS what I was thinking in my previous post. I have no idea how much difference the color will actually make, however.

Ceramic coating the hot parts black will keep the heat in the exhaust (good for spooling the turbo). It also keeps the engine bay much cooler. Black ceramic coating also does a much better job of containing heat than the silver.

Sonofabish! you stole my idea, flat black everything! Looks awesome though. FWIW, I'm doing everything I possibly can flat black, block...valvecovers...intake...tb...and piping.

I wont be as hardcore as you, but everything turbo wise will be black.

Looks great guys. All 3 of my kits have been flat black (hot piping, manis, DP, and ex side of the turbo).

Nice 750!

I see you swapped GSX-R 600M bodywork on it. Here's mine from back in 02...

Now she's a boosted built 1000 motor in that 600 frame...

Sorry to hijack your thread...I think that turbo looks BAD ***

Actually it is a real telefonica 600 with a swapped 750 motor 750 forks and swingarm.

Sideways how much did they charge you for the coating? Is this cheaper then ceramic?
