It will be aligned tomorrow afternoon should be able to pick it up on Wed.

Hmmm... are they physically colapsing? Or, are they just causing a drop in boost due to restriction? What are the symptoms at 6300rpm?

I suggested here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...120&highlight=

a fix on the C5 system that I had recommended some time back on CF and that is to use the pancake tube sections as the compressor outlets and create new inlets similar to the new APS design for the new C6 ZO6 system. Doing this gives maximum area potential for creating the least restrictive air path to the compressor inlets.

Old problematic C5 layout

Revised C6 ZO6 layout

666rwhp is a mean number for the street

This is the 3rd car with issues on them, the other 2 had UMI k members.

But it sucks shut at the ovalized part on the driver duct, and also on the elbow portion on the driver duct. I watched it suck shut on one car, the boost lays down as if one turbo is offline.

Yea, i PMd peter about it. Funny how their kit made for 1000 engine hp only made it to 667 rwhp. Little pissed about that, but other than that minor issue i am happy as **** with the results!

HUGE thanks and big applause to the guys at EPP! Hopefully i can come down real soon to pick it up! I still cant wait to see that front end with the trick cooler set-up and hear the idle and WOT sound!

I don't think they said they could get 1000 engine hp necessarily from any combo of engine size but that it could potentially get that number as that was what the turbos could flow. 50 pounds a minute is usually translated to 500 hp engine per side roughly.

Now Jm has gotten close to the magic 800 rwhp on an auto number which if figure 20% for auto is 1000 engine. His engine is of course a 402 not a 346 and he has expensive heads, etc.
Still think there might be another 80rwhp or whatever in his combo if he could get them up a bit higher on boost.

So don't think aps has lied and they did get higher boost numbers think like 18 or 20 psi out of their kit not sure why theirs were not sucking shut.

Anyway this sucking shut problem should be simple to fix for a company as big as APS. And EPP already said they can maybe sell us a solution if need be.

I have not seen it yet but I am pretty sure my car is sucking shut as well. It made around 650 RWHP on the dyno but when I attempted to up the boost at the track it went from a 10.2 to a 11.6 and went from 12~13 pounds at the line to ~5 at the traps with a 118 MPH trap speed.
on spring alone it ran a11.2 at 133 MPH

and now the over heating problems

Mine have not sucked shut yet. Peter did offer me the upgrades. ALL THE UPGRADES ARE IS MORE LAYERS OF SILICONE. I told hime I would wait till the upgraded turbo's were done for me. The new ducts are $125 FYI. I also dont have any overheating problems. But I am running a electric water pump and I dont get into alot of traffic. But I havent driven my car in about a month.

have you driven it in 90* + heat yet.
I may have to make me some metal ducts if that is all it is. Or do like one local guy here and put filter on the turbo directly

Metal ducts are the real deal, we had used some high temp spiral brake duct hose as a temp for a guy since his wouldn't make more then 5psi and then suck shut. It looks like they get worn out and then the ducts just suck shut out of no where.

Its funny now but brings up a good point when I made that thread a while back about the ducts. Just a matter of time till all of them do it.
