Default Procharger Specialists

I was wondering if any of the Procharger specialists (people that know a lot and can troubleshoot) will be attending the Hot Rod Power Tour, or more specifically be at the stop in Rochester, MN for the tour?

I have traded a few PM's with Bob at EPP about this squeaking noise my Procharger is making. I have the standard D1-SC setup for a F-body and when either revving or driving the car, the Procharger is making a squeaking sound from about 2000-4000 RPM's.

Bob said to check the vacuum lines as that might have been the problem. From what I can see, everything appears to be connected properly. To me, the sound seems like it is coming from one of the pullies and I think that is going out.

I was hoping somebody very knowledgable is the Procharger field will be at the Rochester Stop for the Hot Rod Power Tour and could take a quick look at my problem.

Thank you

Josh

EPP are very knowledgeable on Prochargers, if they can't help have you tried calling ATI?

When mine did that it was the tensioner pulley. I swapped it out with a steel idler that I got from a junk yard... problem resolved.

What he said.. Also squeeking and Grinding sounds do come from the standard belt tensioner, SDCE or other Spring loaded Tensioners make less noise or none as all..

ATI will have a represenative going the full tour, but you may not be able to find him. I don't think he would be able to help you much anyway.

ATI will however have the display trailer and lots of new products at the Springfield, MO stop through the Ames, IA stop. Although there will be techs there to answer questions, they will not have ANY parts on hand.

this might sound kind of stupid, but did you try changing the belt, or adjusting it a little diff-i know there is a retrofit for the vette tensioner, due to a chirping sound, something about the belt sliding on the idler pulley
waiting for mine now

Check the torque on the bolt of the tensioner pulley, this is a known issue to come loose if not fully tigtend. How do the pulleys look? Are any of the pulleys wearing off the anodizing?

The bearings i have seen go bad as well.

Your squeek also might be the bov fluttering while venting off the air. The fbodys dont do it bad, but the vette kits since there vent to atmosphere are noisy as can be.

Thank you for all your comments. I think I will try the tensioner pulley as I should have easy access to one of those. Everything seemed to be tightened properly. I will have to take a look to see about the anodizing.

I haven't tried a new belt, yet. That might come after trying the "junk yard swap".

I originally thought it might have had some of the bov fluttering sound too. Anything to fix that?

Thank you again. I need this rain to quit here so I can have a little ambition to look at the car.

It is the upgraded 8 rib for the D1SC setup. It put down 475 @ 5800 on a Mustang.
